Hi guys ive recently changed my prefacelift 2.0 Zetec Mondeo to a 2004 54 reg 1.8 Facelift Mondeo. Ive got a query about the tyres that came with the car. I know the standard size tyres that should be fitted to my car are 205/55/16, but its got 205/50/16 fitted. The spare is the standard/correct size. Would I be ok stiill running on these tyres, and just as an emergency/get me home if needed use the spare or would I need to change the spare to the same size as the others.
The other thing I noticed and this might sound daft, is that there is a larger gap on the front between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch. I assuming its because its a smaller engine ie 1.8, and not the 2.0 engine, and the profile of the tyres.
Your Advice would be most gratefull.

Washer Bottle Pump
17 January 2013 - 05:02 PM
Hi guys ive sold my old preface Mk3 Mondeo and just bought a 2004 54 Reg Facelift Mondeo, which im well pleased with. Ive got a small problem with it, as in water is leaking out around the washer bottle pump.. Ive had a look from underneath the car and pulled the pump out and checked the pipes attached to it, and they are still attached and seem ok. Also checked the rubbber seal in the bottle and that seems ok as well. I cleaned it all up and put it back together and refilled the washer bottle but it still leaks. The only place I can see water around the pump is the area where the 2 elbows come out of the pump and is dripping down from there onto the floor.
My thinking is due to the very cold weather we are having is that at some point the washer bottle has frozen and in trying to use the washers has split/cracked one of the elbows on the pump.
I have ordered a new replacement washer pump off ebay, in the hope that this cures the leak.
What are your thoughts on this or could I be right in what I have put

Wanting To Fit A 12S Grey Socket To My Car
13 March 2012 - 08:06 AM
Hi guys quick question ive got a 2001 MK3 Mondeo Zetec, whch has got a tow bar fitted to with the normal 12N socket. I tow a caravan alot and im wanting to fit the 12S grey socket so I can run my fridge and or charge my 12 volt leisure battery.
I feel fairly confident in fitting it myself, which will save me some money, which we all like to do. These are the 12S wiring kits that I have been looking at. Would I be ok using the split relay that comes with the kits.

I also know that I would need to take a live feed direct from the battery with an in line fuse
Thanks in advance
