Hello all,

Been thinking about getting the mountune cat-back fitted with a view to getting the rest of the upgrade as and when I can afford it. Got a couple of questions though if anyone can help:

- Would the ZS diffuser need to be altered to accomodate the system?

- How loud is it? I don't want to sound like a boy racer all the time but a nice low rev growl and high rev thunder would be good.

- Is there any performance improvement from the cat-back alone?

On another note I have recently fitted a K&N panel filter and am chuffed with it. I always felt that at low revs the car felt restricted when you put your foot down, now it goes right through the range and does it so smoothly. It has also improved my MPG, at best before i was hitting 38-40 on motorway miles, now its 45-48 and its sitting about 38 for normal city driving.

Only downside is the improvement has made me more throttle happy and i'm getting 34 for kicking the bottom out of it.

Been lurking for a while, have found the site to be a great source of info on all things Fez related, kudos to those who run it and all who contribute

My car has now passed its 1st birthday so along with a massive spring clean I am thinking its about time it gets its first service (just hitting 7500 on the clock). I bought the car from a motorpoint rather than a ford dealer so I am wondering if I can take my pick with regards to which dealer performs the service as long as they are ford approved? Am I right in thinking it needs to be serviced by Ford for warranty validation or can it be any garage as long as the book gets stamped?

I have also been looking into getting a K&N Panel filter fitted after the service, have read conflicting reports as to its worth but if I get a little extra bite when accelerating i'll be happy. Has anyone fitted one to the petrol 1.6 and noticed any benefit be it bhp or mpg?

Have thought about going down the full mountune route but unless you can pay it up it would probably be next xmas by the time I can afford it. Seems like a lot to pay for not a massive gain in performance nevermind the cost to my insurance premium. Has anyone fitted this upgrade or parts of it (Eg exhaust) and felt it worthwhile?

Just swapped out my friends battery in a 54' plate Ka as there have been issues with the car starting and the alternator was changed not long ago.

Anyway long story short, the radio will light up but there is no prompt on the screen for the code to be entered, any ideas why this might be and any possible fix? I can get the SN etc to display when I hold the 1 and 6 keys down but that is all so far. The radio unit is one of those 6000 rds models that are integrated into the dash.

Was raining when I changed it (car had to be used so couldn't wait any longer), could that be anything to do with it? Was thinking about disconnecting the battery next chance I get for 30 mins or so to reset everything, I work in IT so figure this is as good as the old switch it off and back on again trick

Any advice is much appreciated.

I'm aware this shouldn't be here and have posted this in the Ka forum but there seems to be a few ford engineers in the fiesta forum so thought I would see if I have any luck here too.

My girlfriend has recently had the alternator replaced in her Ka and can't find her manual for the radio code, I was just wondering if anyone here know how to get hold of it other paying ford or some rip off website?

Any help would be much appreciated. I don't have the actual radio serial number but have a note of her VIN and also the model of radio if that helps.
