Wow, Never Thought I Would Ever.......

25 February 2012 - 08:24 PM

buy a brand new car! But that is exactly what we did yesterday. Not for me, but the other half. Not an expensive motor, and not a Ford but i never thought i'd be able to do this. It actually cost less than my 58 plate Focus cost me 5 months ago too.
So for everone wondering its a Hyundai i10 Active in red. Lovely little second car, and a great price to boot. We are both like a child waiting for Christmas now as delivery is expected last week of March because there are no available red ones in the country and they set off on a 4 week journey by ship today. :)

Recommended Top Up Oil For 1.8 Tdci

18 February 2012 - 08:02 PM

Last oil change was September when i bought the car, done by ford dealership. What particular brand of oil do they use,? and what do you guys recommend to top up. don't want to void the warranty by using something ford would deem an 'unsuitable' oil.

Recommend away folks. :)

Where Do You Mount Your Phone/mp3 Player?

14 January 2012 - 07:41 PM

Guys, i've got a Focus titanium with Aux socket in the glovebox. I have an ex contract android mobile that has an 8gb memory card in that i'll use as an mp3 player and sat nav. I've been using my current phone in the cup holder bit and ran the cable to it.
I find it a bit restrictive there and can't really see the screen too well.
What i want to do is leave this phone semi/permanently connected in a position where i can see the album artwork or sat-nav. I want the cables for charger and aux to be as hidden as possible.
I've looked at a couple of mounting options namely http://www.ebay.co.u...c#ht_500wt_1287 and http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1438.l2649
The first one, i thought i might fasten it inside the storage box on top of the dash and have an extra 12v supply for charging hidden behind dash, with charging cable and aux cable routed in to storage box. I'm not sure though that this mount would fasten securely to the lid.

The second one, i wasn't sure where to mount it, and its probably less tidy than the first. seems a handy thing to have either way lol.

So, how do you guys mount your phones/mp3's? also any suggestions on my ideas above or alternative recommendations. The only thing i wont do is pay a fortune or damage the dash :)

Number Plate Leds

Has anyone found any that are 100% legal? I want to fit some, but don't want a pull because they may not be bright enough. I'd rather not bother than take any chances.

Number Plate Footers

30 October 2011 - 08:01 PM

According to plate suppliers on the net, its illegal to have a footer at the bottom of your plate. How come its ok for dealers to put their name, tel number etc, but not something of our own choice? Doesn't make sense to me as long as its not offensive. :(
