Mk Fiesta - New Ecu Needed :(

10 October 2014 - 09:19 PM

So, a friend's 2007 MK6 Fiesta was not working fine and it turned out the ECU was cooked. The local ford dealership asked around 2000 gbp for a new ECU and to have it programmed. Is there anything he can do to get away with a cheaper fix? 2000 pounds sounds ridiculously expensive.

2007 1.6 Tdci Engine Vibration, Low Torque And More

01 September 2014 - 03:41 PM

My 2007 1.6 tdci has been giving me trouble for a while... now im getting a rather unstable rev needle especially when cold and it does not sound so sweet. Torque is not very good and it does not pull away easily, especially anything more than a flat road. Also i noticed it gets much worst with the a/c on. The power seems to come in a little bunch at around 2200rpm and then it dies again. I dont like to have to rev it like a little 1.0 petrol to get somethibg out of it. Not sure if related but also noticed the power steering is quite heavy. I dont get any obvious whines but there is a noticable vibration in the previously quiet and relax interior. No errors are logged either.

Things i have changed recently ... the turbo - had the power issue for a while so i tried fitting a remanufactured one - big mistake since it got a bit worst! Also I had the injectors cleaned up recently. Also had the dpf removed and cancelled the egr.

Parrot Ck3100 Installation On Fiesta Mk7

23 August 2014 - 08:25 AM

Hi, So I bought a Parrot CK3100 for my Fiesta MK7 (which has the standard stereo). I was able to take out the stereo in order to select the correct SOT lead (CT10FD09) but do I need to sort something else out? Mostly concerned on where this will get power from? Will it use the SOT lead itself?

This is the back of my stereo: http://oi62.tinypic.com/16hun0x.jpg

Also, anyone has a suggestion where I could fit it?

thanks

Mark

1.6 Tdci - Replacing Turbo

14 October 2013 - 07:41 AM

My focus is really lacking power and I noticed a new slight whine from (i think) the turbo. Not sure if its dirty or its on its way out but considering the type of damage you would get from a blown turbo I decided to purchase a refurbished unit from ebay for about 300 quid.  Not wanting to spend much more on this car (repair bills in the last couple of years have run into thousands already), I am thinking of doing the job myself with my buddy helping me. Haynes manual put the job at 4 stars which I honestly have never done but have found 3 stars jobs pretty easy. I also have a good set of tools and pit in my garage. None the less it is still something that neither me or my friend have ever done - do you think we should do it or is it too risky?

Also apart from the gaskets, what else needs to be changed? The oil feed pipe was replaced a year ago since I decided it was a good practice to do it while I had my DPF being removed.
