In Topic: Air Con Problem

When you say regas do you mean regas - refrigerant recovered, drier replaced, vacuum down, refrigerant and bit of oil back in or do you mean a bit more gas was added to what ever was already in the system? If the later what was the criteria for the ammount of R134a put in?

You also said it works fine when sitting on drive idling, but stops as soon as you pull off? Is this repeatable, and if so, I believe tha carputer uses lots of the sensors to see if it can give power to the aircon. Are there any other strange things going on with day to day driving?

In Topic: Lost My Nut!

20 May 2013 - 08:15 PM

I was reading this thread thinking "how lucky you haven't got the same locking nuts that I had, with the spinning outer collar". Then I read your last post and my heart went out to you...

All is not lost though. I had similar problem, except I had the key. Managed to get two of my lock nuts off with little problem, but third was a pita, and managed to warp the key, so it wouldn't fit on any more. Ended up going to local tyre center, where he was reluctant to have ago. Turned out he thought he might break them, to which I said go for it.

So he drilled down between the collar and the inner fixed part, and then smashed it with a chisel, to break the spinning collar off. Then he used one of thoses reverse thread sockets to get the middle off. Still took about twenty minutes though.

OK bad news, I can confirm PantherPL findings, only oil Pressure works. Doh. Back to the drawing board.

Also found if you coonect to CAN medium, you loose outside temperature display, value replaced with hyphens, and the handbrake symbol stays on.
