Fiesta Drl's
30 November 2011 - 04:59 PM
Hi , not sure if there is anybody on here that is an auto electrician , my drl's turn off when you put sidelights / dipped headlights on , the wiring consists of 1 x earth , 1 x ignition live and 1 wire which turns them off completely when powered up , ( this is connected to light circuit on the car ) My question is , can something be put in the wire to lower the voltage / resistance amps etc so they would dim , this way it would be legal to have them on as well as lights ?
Daylight Running Light Pics

I have taken some pics , excuse the poor quality , taken from iphone , i rewired them to go off with dipped beam , this is because the relays !Removed! when opening car , must be something to do with sidelights coming on when car opens up.

Illuminated Kick Seals
20 November 2011 - 04:37 PM
I noticed that my illuminated kick seals do not glow up or turn on with car lights etc , i took off the inner seal trim and front quarter section to allow access to the wiring , i disconnected the connector plug from main wiring in car to kick seals , i ran a power and earth to the passenger side and it lit up , however drivers side didn't work at all , the main wiring loom plugs are not getting a live to them anyway , my concern is , should ford sort my wiring issue out under warranty as it is original factory loom even though only one kick seal would light up ? i am happy to buy a new pair or just the 1 thats not working if this is the case ? Thanks for any responses , I noted somewhere that if you buy a second hand car from a ford dealer you get 2 years warranty but not sure whats covered. However i strongly believe that any original ford wiring should be covered under their warranty as it was factory installed , just 1 point further my illuminated gear stick works fine.

I have booked my car in and will be having daytime running lights fitted by my local ford dealer , £479 is the cost , expensive i know but if you like that sort of thing worth it , I will post pics up when finished , car is going in on Wednesday , they are designed by MS Design and fit snug into the bumper just below the headlights and they look really bright too , can't wait
