#159756 No Engine Cover

Posted by rojariggs on 06 January 2012 - 04:53 PM

i dont know if this helps but i have heard afew complaints regarding water leaking through from the windscreen jet washers and dripping onto the engine and causing problems eg. water in spark plug sockets. the engine cover would eliminate any risk of that happening.
could save you alot of hassle in the long run. but im not 100% sure so please correct me if im chating complete nonsense lolol

I don't think that spark plugs in particular will be a problem on his diesel... ;)

However, there may be some small truth in what you say

#159500 Sorn Insurance

Agreed, but if your buying a cheap 'banger' and your happy with the chance - take it, otherwise the car must be declared SORN and kept physically off the road. I would say if you are going to store it on the drive, invest in one of those "secure lock poles"

If he's going to do that he might as well spend the 100 on insuring it for the time being...

If it's SORN you don't need to insure it. It can still get stolen off your drive though....

Its water and a bottle, how can you go wrong??

you can drive but have difficulty filing the washer bottle?

That is patronising and unecessary.
