#321023 Boost Gauge And Usb

Posted by salsheikh on 13 January 2014 - 02:14 PM

to tee off for the boost gauge is simple ebnought on the 1.8tdci engines. there is a small l bend rubber pipe near to egr valve so add a t-piece to this for your boost gauge. i then ran the tube through the grommet in th bulkhead.

some pics of my set up here: http://www.fordowner...i-build-thread/

i do plan to change my current set up using an android media player/custom mount but just havent had the time to do it. plus it means i will have to remove my dash trim which is stuck down using sikaflex!!!

Gary, in order for you to fit the boost gauge panel, do you need to change to rest of the dash trim?

#320905 Going From 17" To 18" Alloys

i've got 19's with no rack limiter and have had no issues at all, even when it was lowered! yes the wheel maybe close to the arch liner on full turn but it does not rub or cause any problems. i even bought the kit but didnt fit it.

#317454 Headunit Removal Keys & Sub Install

Posted by salsheikh on 03 January 2014 - 12:43 PM

Gary,

the sill trims come off easily enough so run the wires down the sides. the power cable once pushed through the grommet can be seen and so just pull it though, no need to remove the glovebox/fusebox. as for the missus not liking the bass you can use an on/off switch to the remote wire to cut out the amp coming on when she is driving.

if there is no rca outs on the hu then buy a rca convertor from Halfords and splice into the rear speakers - this is what I did previously.

#312789 Would You Shop A Drink-Driver For 1000?

Posted by salsheikh on 17 December 2013 - 02:08 PM

Clive

i like your thinking - it certainly would work!

shame this country is too soft on punishment.

Every morning i see other drivers cutting up drivers on a roundabout instead of sitting in traffic in the right lane they decide to go in the wrong lane and try to cut in and this annoys me like hell. Most of the time you can see it happening and if someone tries it on me i will drive wide on purpose so not to give them the space to cut me up. Just wish i could something about it, the 5-0 aint interested as i've seen them sitting opposite the said roundabout and do nothing.

#311183 Painting Lower And Upper Grilles

Posted by salsheikh on 12 December 2013 - 01:47 PM

remove them first to make life easier!

a nice tug on the lower grill in any corner will help it come out. the top grill is a bit trickier as you have to remove the lock.

wash the grills in fairy liquid and make sure they are dry and then sand them down and wash again before attempting to paint. remove all contaminents and paint in a warn environment to help adhesion.

i think lenny/tdcist/gforce have guides on how to remove the grills.

#308236 Remove Front Bumper

Posted by salsheikh on 02 December 2013 - 08:37 PM

Im going to spray down from my lower grill to make it look like a wider grill.
Can anyone tell me how to take it off im not too sure.
Or a pdf

if your spraying your grill then just pull the grill out, start at one corner and pull it out. Lenny has made a guide on how to remove it. I sprayed my old grill and the bottom of my bumper

i know that if they are busy then it can be a while before they phone you back. dynodaze is probably your best bet!
