from what I understand the higher the offset the further out they will sit.
my wheels offset is ET45 and I have 19's on my Focus

the tyres are very close to the arches

paying that bit more for work to be done properly makes all the difference. you cant cut corners with the mammoth task you have on your hands.

#358363 Quick Advice Needed

Posted by salsheikh on 29 April 2014 - 08:34 PM

if everything fitted on the front end went straight on then swap it back to the original parts, if work was required then it might not be a straight forward swap!

good luck with the sale mate.

#358196 Radio And Lights Flickering On And Off?

Posted by salsheikh on 29 April 2014 - 12:45 PM

thats an odd one Mike. i'd check the wiring at the back of the stereo to see if anything is loose but as its your lights too i'm not sure. might be worthwhile visitng an auto electrician?

#354466 Mk2.5 Cold Air Feed

maybe you could replace the cold air feed pipe with one that sits lower down into the main grill and attach it to the grill itself?

#349731 Been At It With A Hammer And Chisel....again

Posted by salsheikh on 01 April 2014 - 01:23 PM

some of you may remember that i had bonnet vents that i removed using a hammer and chisel as i wanted to replace the fibreglass vents with carbon fibre looking plastic ones. well...ive only gone and done it again but ths time with the dash pod.

after reading lennys awesome guide i bonded my dash pod/trim thinking it'lll never be removed so bond it down. well, last night i took it off and replaced my current 2 x 52mm gauge set up and replaced it with the dash top pocket/cubby. I have then got a Samsung Media Player 5" screen and placed that into the pocket but mounted it so that it sits upright and can be removed (held by velcro). i can also place my satnav there if required but not both at the same time.

#349076 Did Anyone On Here Buy These Wheels?

Posted by salsheikh on 30 March 2014 - 08:08 PM

I won a set in black for £280 but when they turned up they weren't the facelift wheels and had spray paint all over the tyres and clearly were not the same as the ones in the pics and got my monies back through ebay.

#348417 Gloss Black Grills

Posted by salsheikh on 28 March 2014 - 07:30 PM

Tom

like Karl says, do it yourself but read up on it and take your time. preparation is the key. £270 is very excessive btw.

simple steps:

sand the grills to key the surface - use a scotch pad to help you get into the grooves.

wash with soapy water and let it dry naturally

spray in a warm room with no wind

lots of light even coats, 15 mins apart

finish with lots of light even coats of lacquer.

use plastikote paint as it sticks to plastics really well. good luck
