Posted by salsheikh on 16 July 2015 - 11:21 AM

wow, i havent updated this thread since Nov 2013!

anyways, i have a few updates...

Jade-R 18" alloys (downsized from 19's)

Modified RSParts splitter

put a slope on the front

Android stereo also installed

running the Torque app

New amp and mounting - will be wired up soon to go with a Pioneer 122 Sub (Vibe sub will remain fitted as a back up for when the Pioneer is removed for luggage space - not shooping space!)

Focus RS headlights brows also fitted

black oem headlights with HID's are next...just need fitting

#503199 Modified Rsparts Splitter

Posted by salsheikh on 16 July 2015 - 11:13 AM

some of you who have the splitter would have noticed that when the car is washed or if it has rained that the water sits on the splitter. This got me thinking...what if it had an angle/slope on it?

So, i purchased another splitter and made this

and then finally got round to fitting it and now it looks like this

next on the agenda is the custom number plate - i have had the vinyl made and it has been delivered and yesterday i picked up some blank number plates - i originally intended to place the vinyl on the back of my number plates but it has double sided tape so blanks were the better and easier option.

it will have a variation of this

#502958 Focus Mk1 Replace Clock Spring, 80 Ford Or 10 Myself?

In regards to airbags.. modern airbags are Pretty much harmless until they recieve 6 or 12v.. and then KABOOM

i'd watch bad neighbours (very funny movie) before playing with the airbags...

you may want to disconnect the battery first and leaving it for a bit to get rid of any residual charge (switch lights on and they should dim really quickly if there is any) and then you should be ok.

#502764 Instrument Panel Box - Cannot Close 'cause It Doesn't Hook

Posted by salsheikh on 14 July 2015 - 11:46 AM

So my top glove box had been previously broken & glued shut, I prised it open and weighed up my options;

Either buy a new catch & try to source a new lid as catch was snapped or think up an alternative,

New catch is £18 (cheapest I can find on ebay from Turkey)

Was struggling to even find a lid so here was my fix:

I bought this off ebay for £2.45

I then removed the catch from my car, prised the old catch out from the housing (pulls straight out with a screwdriver:

The best bit is the new bit off ebay fits directly into the housing:

Then it's simply a case of pushing it into place & glueing the new latch to the lid of the box smile.png

A Quick, easy, cheap fix which saves a fortune smile.png

Posted by salsheikh on 13 July 2015 - 09:22 AM

i know my S4 loses charge - its due to apps running in the background.

to close them down, keep the menu key pressed for a few seconds and let go, all previously used apps will apps and select the bin symbol to close them down. i do this throughout the day and it makes a big difference to my phone.

#501232 3 Door Rear Card Removal

Posted by salsheikh on 08 July 2015 - 08:38 AM

at 2am!

man you must be desperate for better speakers!

i googled it and found this thread: http://www.focusstoc.com/forums/topic/119224-removing-rear-interior-panels/

if you cant see it let me know and i will paste the details on here.

sod it i'll do it no

There are 2 fixings behind the 'B' pillar seat belt adjuster another behind the rear seat back pivot and one more at the rear, then it just pulls off.

Trouble is, the rest of the trim around the window needs to come off first or it becomes rather difficult.

the seat belt adjuster has a small cover at the top that reveals 2 screws, mind you don't drop them.

Also you won't see the screws if the belt adjuster is at it's highest position as this will cover the screws

The trim at the top has three screws under the long cover that hides the curtain airbag.

The trim at the rear that the parcel shelf sits on has 2 torx screws underneath.
