#515283 Opinions On Focus 1.8 Tdci

Posted by salsheikh on 24 August 2015 - 02:43 PM

i think the 1.8 is an excellent engine - mine's been brilliant.

yes, low down they can be laggy but a remap/tuning box will easily sort this out

the car itself looks ace and has some very nice features - modding can always be done though!!!

price depending - i would go for it

#511156 Guide: Fitting Boot Door Tow Strap Ford Focus Mk2 & Mk2.5

that is a nice touch Lenny, never thought of using it for that. I have one attached to my sump guard and its for aesthetics only.

#511150 I Sprayed My Focus

Joe - ignore the comments that do not like the colour. a lot of people still aint used to the colour grey!!!

like others have said, it is YOUR car and it is YOUR choice and as long as YOU are happy then that is all that matters.

nobody's car is perfect and never will be so dont be disheartened.

Carry on as you wish  :D

#510862 Upgrade Sony Audio System

Posted by salsheikh on 10 August 2015 - 01:30 PM

Hi Sara

I'm no audio guru but i would upgrade the speakers to components and possibly even add an amp and sub to make the sound a lot better. The audio specialist will probably advise something similar unless your willing to spend a lot of cash!

#510788 The Worst Colour Car?

any BROWN colour is awful but i do agree with the OP - looks like baby poo

why do people even come out with these colours - even the beige brows are horrid

#510783 Just Turned My Diesel Mk2 Focus Into An St Rep, Now I'm Stuck On The Dash?

Posted by salsheikh on 10 August 2015 - 08:56 AM

aquarius blue looks ace - i just wish ford got rid of the boring colours on every model.

look at Lenny's guide and fit the pocket but dont use the dremel (too messy/dusty) to cut into the dash as a stanley knife will allow you to do this until you remove the top layer and then use the dremel to cut into the plastic layer underneath - i know as i've done this and now have a titanium pocket pocket after fitting the gauges.

cut top layer using stanley knife

then used dremel to cut plastic bottom layer

made my own dials pod to house 2 x 2" gauges

then replaced them by fitting the pocket dash and housing a 5" samsung media player so i had the torque app running and also used it as my sat nav (held in place by velcro so is removable), fitted a charging point inside the pocket so no messy wires!

and both of this devices offer error erase yes ??

yep, both will erase the codes

with the elm config it gives you more options but will require a laptop to connect to the car.

I like many others use my smart phone and an app called torque pro (costs a few quid) together with an obd2 Bluetooth adapter off ebay (a few quid) and this does the job perfectly.

#509631 Bulb Or Glass Object Seemingly Fell Out Of My Engine Bay Whilst Driving?

Posted by salsheikh on 06 August 2015 - 10:23 AM

Hi will, I've experienced something like this after working on my car.. I thought that I'd accounted for all the tools and other items I'd used or changed while under the bonnet, only to have a socket work it's way through the engine bay with an alarming clatter while driving around afterwards. Hopefully your experience is a result of someone forgetting to tidy up after changing a bulb.. Best wishes, Martin

this. it could be that you forgot to put a bulb away after changing it or someone else did (garage).
