#469400 Problem With Car/mechanic

Posted by STEADS on 25 March 2015 - 05:13 AM

Have you got the old water pump if so can you post a pic on here you will be able to tell if the damage to it is recent or old by looking at it old will be where the veins have come off wil be totally discoloured new will be all clean looking my suspicions are they have just got hold of an old water pump snapped the veins off and said there you go .
And think bout it what's in there apart from from water to snap all the veins off never come across one yet that has had one vein snapped never mind the lot .

#467698 Focus Mk2 Leaking Coolant - Possibly Found Solution

Posted by STEADS on 20 March 2015 - 12:15 PM

You don't say what focus you have mk1 /2 /2.5 will help people give advice by looking at the photo I think it might be the reverse light connection check with it off then attached usual suspects for coolant leak are water pump and thermstat housing what side of the engine is the leak from cambelt end pos water pump gearbox end pos thermostat housing front of engine on a 1.8 TDCI thermstat housing .

I'm sure these have a common problem with the pump going altogether only cure is a replacement for which you have to drop the tank

#442881 2.0L Turbo Diesal Struggles When Raining/surface Water

Posted by STEADS on 08 January 2015 - 12:53 PM

Check your air filter reason I say this had a 2.0 a while back bought it with a problem the air filter looked as if it had been wet/damp at some point and if so would stop air flow so it is a possible cause worth a look .

#432719 Manufacturers Service Or...?

Posted by STEADS on 29 November 2014 - 02:13 PM

I'd say find your self a reccomended Indy that's outragous for a service and they charge them prices cos people tend to be naive I wouldn't dream of paying any where near that when I worked for an Indy years back the only difference between what they called a full service and engine service was that we used to check the brakes over .

#432714 Timing Belt And Water Pump Change..

I believe it's around 110,000 might be advisable to do both in one hit save money if the pump goes at a later date .

#430593 Front Bumper Hanging Off

Posted by STEADS on 22 November 2014 - 06:36 PM

You should be able to redo that by just removing the wheel arch liner get a tap hammer a tap down where it has pulled the plastic screw fixing throug the hole either that or just a good a fix tie wrap it bumper to wing done that before looks just as good
