That bolt should defo not be threaded into the hole I,ve had trouble myself with these in the past .have you released the track rod so you can swivel it for a better hit I'd tend to crack the nut off wind it off a few threads then hit the nut rather than the bolt use loads of wd or plus gas it's a real stupid design using a torx on that as you tend to snap your torx bit or round it off percivior it will go .

Buy your self a scanner and you will save £££££ and if you keep it in the car you will avoid getting wet waiting for the rac man to turn up in the wet (which seems to be the norm these days)

A reason why if I have anything like that touched on my car I do my homework first reputations feedback and all that it's a shame that there are people out there just after yer hard earned to scam and possibly cost you more in the end run (hope it don't )could do with a board on here with recommended and trusted suppliers, mechs, body shops and such save people getting ripped.

#322230 Scuttle Panel

Posted by STEADS on 15 January 2014 - 09:20 PM

It's more than likely the arm catching the scuttle panel as you haven't touched the heated screen connector and mech would still be going and if it was touching still be touching as all you have done is removed the arm it will be that scrapping on the panel hole as the scuttle panel is no located properly under the screen .

I've done the same but not really sure you need the limiter you should rarely use full lock at a sort of speed and it's on full lock only that the wheel will catch the arch liner

Any good motor factor should be able to tell you off your reg if the worst comes you'll just have to take the arm off and go and match it up at the factors have you got a lvw senars by you I find there pretty good and cheaper than euro parts .i should imagine the taper is the bottom dia of the ball joint .not to bad off a job to do either well within the home mechs capabilitys .

#297975 Airbag Light

Posted by STEADS on 19 October 2013 - 05:32 PM

Had my airbag light come on today had me a bit baffled as to why it should suddenly come on when all I had done before I set out was adjust the passenger seat .anyway after a quick search found out as I thought anyway that if you twiddle the wires under the seat with the ignition off it makes a good connection again and light goes out just thought I,d put it on here in case it happens to anyone else before they go to frauds and get stung .always worth a search before you pay extortionate prices to have the light reset especially now it's part of the mot.
