Ok so even though car has dpf fitted and keeps blocking there is no low ash oil for ford?

So if I buy either magnatec or the Mobil one 3000, is that ok. I'm jjust so confused as everywhere including aa says use a low ash oil with a dpf, will there magnatec oil be ok for dpf?

Thanks for the reply but is it just a normal fully synthetic oil? Not low ash as I cannot see any low ash ones designed for ford?

I've been having problems with dpf blocking since having service done ( oil and filter)in space of a month it blocked twice and all mileage was long distance.

I keep reading that low saps or low ash oil is required in these cars but whenever I search for oil the oil that shows compatible with the 1.6tdci is not a low ash oil.

I keep wondering whether the reason the car is blocking is due to the oil the garage used.

Can people let me know which oil they use and if it's low saps etc? Someone did mention mobil one 3000 and they said its low saps but when I checked it doesn't have code C1,C2 or C3 ( low ash oils)

this is what i mean. a 1.6 petrol is returning better mpg than my 1.6 diesel.

what else could be contributing to poor mpg?

even on a run or mainly A Roads and Motorways i only get up to about 40mpg

i have a 1.6 tdci focus 2005 (DPF) had it about 8 months and no real issues with it, i do mainly town driving but also give it a good run every month.

i have worked out that around town i am getting 30mpg - surely i should be getting more than that??!!!??

i have it booked in for MOT and service and having air filter and fuel filter also replaced. its done 67k miles. will the service and filters mean i will start seeing better mpg?
