Haha! Now there's the beauty you see? I go in a "male mood" if i'm not (and i quote) F****ng about with that f***ing car! (unquote)... So i'm allowed to play till my little hearts content just so long as i pay for any bits and bobs out of my own money ;)

You don't think i was ever daft enough to open a joint account with her indoors did you? There are limits to things we share ;)

I too would like to see my ring light up when my doors are open (insert return double entendre here)

I think i'll have a quick check on alibaba before i commit to an ebay buy, just in case i can 4 million lighty rings for 2 quid

With any luck, me and me mate will soon have me ring tapped in and glowing by next weekend... What he can't do with his special tool (multimeter) isn't worth mentioning... B)

The piccies ain't great, but the LED rear badge is now fitted, and up and running B)

I've chanced running the "red" off the sidelights circuit, so my badge is red as soon as the lights are switched on... Not been pulled... YET!

#167183 Guide Fitting Second Reverse Light Ford Focus Mk2 & Mk2.5

Posted by Bigdaddycain on 17 February 2012 - 04:06 AM

So that's how you hatchback chaps have two reverse and two foglights! Clever! B)

My conversion was similar, except i had to run fresh cable (both sides) to the bumper area, as the estate version has no lights in the rear bumper.

I bought a left hand drive main rear light, plus a left hand drive reverse light to carry out my conversion.

So my fogs are roughly half way up the car, housed in the lower sections of the main rear light clusters, the reverse lights, in the same position as you chaps...

What a brilliant thread! Massive round of applause to all concerned ! How brave are you fella's taking a dremel to your 10 reg motors!

My focus is the titanium spec, so, there is a flip up panel with a shallowish cubby below for things like sunglasses, phone chargers etc, where the ST dial pod would sit...

I bought a dial pod last year, a 3 dial affair.... My thinking was to keep the flip up panel, and bond and smooth the pod on top of the panel, so i'd have ST type gauges, PLUS the convenience of the flip up panel and cubby below (which is pretty handy i must admit) But having read this thread, and eyeing things up, my original idea wouldn't have worked out too well as the top of the pod would sit too high upon the panel, as the gauges couldn't really have "sunk" like on the ST....

I'll now (thanks to you guys) adapt an ST pod shell, to house 2 plasma dial gauges

( I've fitted 2 gauges plus a plasma clock to my ford freda, see link below)

The dials have a nifty "boot up" sequence, and only cost about £18 each, and work pretty well... Hopefully i'll go for a volt gauge, and a boost gauge on my 2.0 TDCI focus... Like Lenny, the trick will be hardwiring in the boost gauge for an accurate reading.

I'll start gathering a few bits and bobs in the meantime, and keep a close eye on this thread for updates... Well done chaps! You're an inspiration! B)

the estate looks excellent mate, i really like what you have done with the vynil decal on the rear looks sweet, you may like my guide on installing the ST dash pod and the additional reverse light, they are all in the list below. Cheers Lenny... I've already done the extra reverse light mate, plus two rear fogs in the rear light clusters (the right hand rear lamp is from a LHD german estate)

But i'm VERY interested in the ST clocks! Mine's the titanium spec focus, so has a sort of hydraulic lift panel where the ST clocks should be... I'm hoping i can keep the lift panel, but somehow graft the clock binnacle on top of it, so it's still got a usefull cubby for storing my phone charger etc....

I fitted these plasma dials into my Ford Freda, hopefully i can use these type dials to compliment a lockwood speedo kit (when they make one for the diesel that is)

I had a play with the ST badges on the front wings... I filed out the inner creases of the "ST" carefully so light could pass through... They now glow orange when the lights are on, and flash a brighter orange with the corresponding indicators....

The plates were a tad "overtinted" for my taste... This was cured by leaving them under my mate's sunbed for an hour... (the U.V rays lightened the tint enough for the bobbies not to tug me every two minutes! B) )

Up on the ramps for a new custom built twin stainless exhaust....

Note the ST220 near my car, at the time it was engine-less awaiting a twin turbo lump from a noble!

A set of Eibachs were ordered from my local FORD dealer of all places! In fact, many new parts were cheaper than 2nd hand bits... Original ford ST style spoiler for the estate (ford of germany) £122 inc vat. LHD rear light cluster £50 ish inc vat, ST sideskirts etc, all from my local ford dealer! I got my bumpers second hand, and trawled across the country to collect them... If i'd gone to my ford dealer it would have cost me about a tenner more for brand new bumpers, plus i'd have saved a day of my life!
