I have had a similar issue with my car. Turned out to be the fuel filter.

Hi, thought i would post an update. The problem turned out to be the fuel filter, this has been replaced and the car is now running great. The cruise control problem was down to a faulty sensor on the clutch pedal.

Both problems were fixed by Alen Ford in Northampton, first time dealing with a Ford garage and they have been great, really good service from Jerry and Steve.

Hi, thanks for the comments, the car has been into the ford dealer today. The car seems to be starting better but the cruise control still does not work plus it still does not seem to be running right. Taking it back in tomorrow.

Hopefully these are just some one off issues and not a sign of things to come!!
