Sync Updates/firmware

30 May 2014 - 12:59 PM

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the latest Sync update/firmware version is?

I have a 2013 Fiesta Titanium and have been having problems with music streaming via Bluetooth. It was okay until I Updated my iPhone to the latest version of iOS and now the only way I can stream music is to launch the iPad, find a track and hit play. It was all automatic before and it's annoying, so I suspect my version of Sync isn't entirely compatibility with the latest Apple iOS. Tried to contact a couple of Ford dealers but getting anywhere with them was nigh on impossible. If anyone can let me know the latest version or what you have so we can work out what is at least recent, that would be great. If anyone has any clues as to when the updates will be available via the Ford site that would be grand also. I have questioned Ford Service via Twitter and they have repeated "soon" every time and that has been going on for months. Thanks, Phil.

Anyone Know Tint Level Of Uk Fiesta Factory Fit Privacy Glass?

16 September 2013 - 03:36 PM

Does anyone know what the level of tint is for factory fit privacy glass on recent Fiesta's? I've got a 13 plate Titanium and it's a heavy tint, I'm guessing 18 - 20%. If anyone knows for certain let me know. Thanks in advance.

Diy Guide To Fitting Reverse Camera And Screen

07 September 2013 - 01:44 PM

Before I start a big thinks to TomRoscoe. It was his idea for this brilliant low cost mod and here’s his reverse camera installation: http://www.fordowner...era-and-screen/

There is overlap between Tom’s approach and mine so all credit to Tom where that’s the case.

The theory is that a camera mounted in to the rear of the car takes its power from the reverse light bulb so when you engage reverse the camera powers up and sends a signal to the monitor to power up also. Brilliant and more fun the normal parking sensors.

Truth be told I hate the look of reverse sensors running the width of the bumper and can’t justify the cost of them just now. So I found TomRosco’s installation, asked a few questions and had a bash.

What I’ve ended up with though is a full reverse camera system for £25 and maybe 3hrs graft. With this in mind I thought I’d put something back and build on the information Tom provided that got me up and running, and I have documented my adventures in case anyone else wants a go at installing their own reverse camera.

Hopefully you will see a PDF document attached to this post with all the details of my installation including lots of photo's and step by step instructions.

Go steadily, take care and do your homework as your car may have different coloured cables etc to mine. All common sense stuff really but hopefully the info TomRoscoe and myself have provided should be enough.

Good luck and let's hear how other folks get on.

Regards,

Phil

2013 Fiesta Titanium Puddle Lights

23 July 2013 - 09:27 PM

Hi, I have a 2013 Fiesta Titanium with factory fit puddle lights on the underside of the powerfold door mirrors. Two questions really, 1. what bulbs are they and 2. Is it straight forward getting inside to replace the bulbs?

Thanks all.

Reverse Camera - 2013/13 Plate Fiesta Titanium 1.0T - Retrofitting

20 July 2013 - 12:23 PM

I collect my new 13 plate Fiesta (1.0T 100ps Ecoboost Titanium, 5dr) Monday. I was due to have one in Nautical Blue but I didn’t like it one bit so I’ve gone for a Frozen White instead. If anyone out there is thinking about Nautical Blue then do your homework first. It’s a real opinion splitter so check it out in the flesh first.

Back to the subject in hand, I like the idea of the reversing camera and it’s not fitted to the new car. I do like the fact that the Ford system engages when you put it in reverse and the steering angle is reflected in the guide lines on screen etc. Just appears to work well as a system. However, does anyone know what’s involved in getting one fitted and/or Ford to fit one? Is it something that can be retrofitted anyway? What connections does it use and how’s it wired in etc? Any help or guidance welcome.

Much appreciated.

PS: Will post pics of new car as soon as I can. Thanks all.
