18 November 2012 - 09:50 AM

Mornin,
I'm wondering if anyone has tried or is using Cree Q5's for sidelights? If so any chance of a pic or two?

Regards,
Phil

Iphone 5 Mounts

22 September 2012 - 07:57 PM

Hi all,
I'm no doubt jumping the gun and not being too patient but I'm after suggestions on mounting kits that'll hold an iPhone 5. Had a dig on eBay but not sure of many of them. I have been using a Brodit ProClip. Very good but pricey and the new phone flops about in the existing mount so a new one is needed. Don't like suction/windscreen mounts as they tend to wobble about a bit so any suggestions on dash, a-pillar or vent mounted kits would be great. Thanking you all :-)

Led Footwell Lights - Which Colour? Show Of Hands Needed :-)

17 July 2012 - 09:25 PM

Evening all,
I'm after a show of hands. I currently have red LED footwell lights and they're very nice. Red matches the ambient lighting but I'm torn between red, white and blue. Here's what they all look light - which works best?

Just in case anyone wants to know, they're all '12 cluster LED W5W/wedge wide angle bulbs' from: http://stores.ebay.c...n-jp2008?_rdc=1. Come in all sorts of colours.

Led Tail/brake Bulbs - Opinions/advice Needed

05 July 2012 - 09:57 PM

Hi,
I'm considering changing the tail/brake bulbs and wouldn't mind some opinions and advice about whether it's worth it and if so what to go for.

So far my current Philips Vision Plus filament bulbs take some beating if I'm honest, they're brighter and quicker than Ford's stock bulbs and that's my main concern/criteria. I have tried a variety of LED, some were no better, many worse, several just went pop in a little cloud of smelly cheap eBay/Chinese manufactured smoke.

However, I've spotted these but would appreciate your feedback. Would also like to hear from folks who have found any LED brake/tail bulbs that are an improvement over the stock Ford ones, especially brightness when braking.

Gps, Mirrors And Plastic Tat

02 July 2012 - 08:32 AM

Morning all.
Hoping you can help with a couple of queries:-

I have an 11 plate, Mk 7 or whatever it is - the plastic silver cover between the hazard warning and the aircon controls - is that anything useful? I’ve prodded, poked and hit it but it doesn’t open, lol. Is it a secret compartment or just a blanking plate/cover?

Secondly, I’ve been having a few calamities relating to a gadget with an external GPs receiver. I’ve got it working, hidden the cable and the GPS receiver module in the little passenger side a-pillar window. I've heard Ford usually mounts GPS modules inside the mirror casing which makes me wonder if I can do the same. Two things really: has anyone done this, know if it'll work or have any general advice. And if so has anyone got a snap or info on how to take the mirror cover/housing off?

Ta,
Phil.
