seems to have gone really stiff as well when coming out of 5th, oil level is fine and the selector mechanism on top of the box doesn't seem that worn either

Gearbox Problem's :(
01 February 2013 - 10:25 PM
got a bit of a strange problem when it comes to selecting gears (mk1 tddi - mtx75 box), all was fine until a few days ago when i suddenly lost use of 2nd, 4th and reverse all at the same time, just wondering if anybody else has experienced anything like this as it seems strange that it happened so suddenly. not a massive problem for now (just make sure i don't need to reverse out of a parking space lol), but living deep in the welsh valleys it is a bit of a pain when it comes to hills
, any suggestions would be very much appreciated as i really don't want to take it to a specialist unless i really have to

Advice Wanted Please

hi guys and girls, i am going to need a saying goodbye to my mk1 focus in the near future as it is just not big enough anymore for the growing family
,
my question is can anybody recommend another ford that has a half decent amount of legroom in the rear (as being 6'6" the drivers seat needs to be right back in most cars!!), i have thought about possibly a focus/mondeo estate or even a galaxy (which would probably be better), really dont want to defect to a zafira etc unless i really need to.
budget will be around £2500 plus whatever i get for the focus.
pretty much the only requirements are that it is diesel and i can fit 2 kids in the back without having knees / feet thrust into my back every 2 minutes.
any help or advice would be very much appreciated

May Have Found Possibly The Most Awkward Place To Have A Hose Blow
08 November 2012 - 04:15 PM
Looks like i have found the most awkward place to have a hose burst, right behind the diesel pump with one of the retaining clips very cleverly put on upside down so he only way of getting it off was either pump off or get the multi-tool out,
just wondering if anybody else has experienced some top quality workmanship like this
p.s it blew with enough pressure to drain the entire coolant system in about 5 seconds flat

Advice / Suggestions Wanted Please

hi all, my issue is that no matter which type of tyre i choose my mk1 focus handles like a dream in the dry but the slightest hint of moisture and it will handle like a tea tray on a ski slope,
now obviously being a turbo diesel i would expect it to have more torque making the front end a bit twitchy when powering out of corners etc but that still makes no sense to me when i can go round a roundabout at 30-35 in the dry yet strugle with 20 when its damp.
any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
p.s. all roll bar components are new inc. drop links
