Hi all,

My parents have just taken delivery of a lovely 13 plate Focus 1.6 Zetec econetic :D firstly may I say what a lovely car! Had a drive and all I can say is wow! Such an improvement from their old 58 plate focus!

They're looking at buying an armrest. Any opinions on which are best?

Cheers

Bleeping Potholes!!

20 April 2013 - 10:53 PM

Hi

I'm just looking for a bit of advice really, I inevitably hit a bad pot hole today, there's millions of them around lately :(

Cut a long story short it has buckled my alloy and put a bulge in my tyre, about half the size of a golf ball which is  <500 miles old (Bridgestone to which wasn't cheap).

Took it to a garage to assess the damage and they reckon the buckle isn't too bad and can be hammered out but the tyre is a danger and needs to be replaced sooner rather than later.

In the meantime I've chucked a space saver on to see me through.

I went back to the scene of the of the pothole an hour after my incident and sods law it has been filled in grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The thing is the tarmac was still wet, there are tyre tracks on a grass next to the road and loads of bits of tarmac laying around on the grass.

I have complained to the council and asked that they pay for the damage but I think they're going to be funny with the fact it's now filled in.

A few pics:

You can see the fresh van tracks on the grass:

Any help or advice would be appreciated, other than not hitting the pot hole in the first place

Need New Tyres S1600/metal/zetec S

16 March 2013 - 12:53 PM

It's time I changed both my front tyres as they're getting to the legal limit now.

At the moment they're all Bridgestone (from new) is it worth getting Bridgestone again? What would you do?

I've been quoted £112 a tyre fitted so £224.

What have you all payed for your tyres? I'm looking at 205/40 R17 84v

Stone Chip On Windscreen

26 February 2013 - 11:19 PM

I was driving down the motorway earlier and heard that unmistakable sound of a stone hitting the windscreen :(

Unfortunately there are two very small holes where the stone has chipped the glass. I'd say in between a pin head and biro pen tip size wise.

I was having a look at auto glass for a repair - £75 :o as I wouldn't want to claim on insurance for it.

But at the same time they are so small I'm tempted to just to leave it? What would you all say?
