The Mondeo Mk5 Test-Drive

26 January 2015 - 02:04 PM

At the invitation of FMC( Dutch FORD MONDEO CLUB)  I, and about 30 FMC members, have witnessed last saturday a unique meeting at ..... Ford dealer Broekhuis in Zeist, Netherlands.
Was organized by David Roosendaal and others and it was just perfect. Dealer has created a drink and meal and there was someone from FORD NETHERLANDS present to represent the mondeo mk5. After the presentation there was an opportunity to test the mk5,  there were two versions available:
Petrol: 1.5 ECOBOOST WAGON(estate) AUT 118kW(160bhp) and 110kW(150 bhp) 2.0 tdci wagon. Fine specimens, interior to lick fingers..Dash and center console magnificent.(in my opinion) noiseless.  The petrol version has, for mr,  a slight preference as compared to the  diesel version.I am used to my monster mondeo so maybe I had the impression that they still responded more slowly on the accelerator, in other words: turbo comes in, too late.
The finishing touch, however, is of a different level than the mk3 / mk4,almost perfect Attached File  FMC nieuwjaarsmeting006.jpg   33.65KB   14 downloadsAttached File  FMC nieuwjaarsmeting005.jpg   25.41KB   14 downloadsAttached File  FMC nieuwjaarsmeting004.jpg   26.24KB   14 downloadsAttached File  FMC nieuwjaarsmeting003.jpg   28.74KB   14 downloadsAttached File  FMC nieuwjaarsmeting002.jpg   28.47KB   13 downloadsAttached File  FMC nieuwjaarsmeting001.jpg   26.58KB   14 downloads

Is It Doable?

12 January 2015 - 07:45 PM

I have a question for the real specialists among the members.  I did casually asked myself if it would be possible to let

the DENSO  nav run on another 'medium', in particular an SD card.

So the DVD out and SD reader in, in simple terms.

If it would be feasible, I want to try it.

To the specialists to make it (possibly) work ..

Am very curious!

Next Modification

05 January 2015 - 07:21 AM

I have not decided yet what I'll do with the gauges, so I'm going to do my next mod: adaptation of the headlights.
I bought an extra set of xenon headlights and I'm going to modify these to:
1.retrofit xenon light, which gives more light and brighter
2. Angel Eyes daytime running lights
3 I'm going to make them black

It all takes a few months because some parts I need, I have to order in China and the delivery-time is about 3 weeks.

I also have to make a specific circuit with a programmer. This circuit does the following:

When headlights on -> angel eyes go out

when indicating -> angel eyes dim on the indicating side

when car unlocking -> angel eyes go on.

So, plenty of work  facepalm.gif

This is all possible in coöperation with my Dutch friend David -aka STOEPIE2002 - Roosendaal.
