Recently my mk1 2000, 2litre has started playing up.

 

Just cruising at 30 mph, the abs pump starts whining if i press brake abs kicks in let go of brake pedal pump stops making noise, as soon as i hit 30 mph it starts again. put my foot on brake and pedal is pulsating under my foot.

 

Had a live scan machine on, and when car is moving all wheel sensors read the same mph except the rear left which is a little out.

 

I have cleaned all sensors etc, but its still doing it.

 

Any advice please, as i don't want to go to buy 4 new sensors if only 1 is dodgy.

I am after the plastic strip with the rubber that clips on top of headlights, just been to fords and they dont sell them seperate, you have to but the whole headlight unit, and as there is nothing wrong with my headlights they are still in as new conditon.

I have the leather seats and  2 plugs under gear stick console, and a load of wires going in to wiring plug under seats, and the terminals in fuse box for heated seats, what would be the chances of putting fuse in and getting switches and there being the elements in the seats already  is there a way of checking before i go scrap yard to get the gear stick surround with switches.

Mark 1 2000  2litre.  its got 154 thousand on clock

I am having my engine taken out on Tuesday to change clutch, (I find it easier to do it that way, also enging is getting blasted to clean it) I am also changing water pump and cam belt + tensioners etc etc.

 

I am just looking for advice on what other parts I can change whilst it is out, oil seals gaskets etc etc.

My car has developed a whineing noise, and i am 99.9% certain its coming from alt as done the trick with screaw driver on alt and ear to screaw driver., when i first start car a squeak can be heard coming from belt end of engine, this has allways done this, but whineing noise only happened 2 days ago.

A mate said he can change bearing in alt and this will solve it, saves buying new alt.

By the way it's a 2.0 zetec. 2000.

Is changing bearing an easy job.

and is it worth changing anything else whilst alt and belt  is off.

Its just ticked over to 150 thosand miles.
