Just a quick update. I've had to sell the Escort (thanks Ulster Bank) 
My brother was good enough to offer me a fair price for it & not take advantage of the position I was in and even agreed to let me do any of the work on it that I am capable of - so on the up side I still get to flex my amateur petrol head muscles on it. So at least I can still do a bit of learning.
Once I get access to my money I'll be in the market for a nice cheap wee Ford to tinker with if anyone in the Northern Ireland area has any leads please feel free to pass them on.
