In Topic: Full Parts List/catalogue

Hi Lenny, I wasn't aware you could get this type of software, my Son has a mk1.5 Focus and it requires the odd part now and then so would be a good thing to get.

Now someone says it might be free so might try to find it.

Anyhow you got the ball rolling again with spot on help.

By the way I got the rear seat cover you recommended and its just the job and amazing value, got red piping but lying a bit with the Zetec 's' bit, been meaning to let you know but been bit preoccupied with daughter number 1's forthcoming wedding.

Cheers

martin

In Topic: Oil Leak

05 May 2013 - 10:23 AM

Hi again, well its looking as there is  more oil around the pulley housing, but its amazing how oil can spread around an area due to the heat and air flow.

You need to check the belt does not get contaminated as well, may cause it to slip/perish.

Saw AC on the belt so though air con but now remember AC make belts!!

Hope you get it sorted, I would be interested in what you find.

messed about with cars in my youth and now help my Son, Daughter, Sister with bits, he's got a mk 1.5 Focus.

Worked on my construction plant as well .

The problem is that it will probably cost a few quid for the seal and lots in labour if you take it to a garage thats assuming it is the seal.

Cheers

Martin.

In Topic: Oil Leak

Hi Dean, I am not a trained mechanic but have taken engines apart  and got them together again. I presume the oil leak is from the pulley drive shaft, by the look of the belt its air con?

Any how there may be a rubber type press in seal that presses around the shaft that looks as though its done for, and oil leaking can mean contaminants getting in .

If I am correct you could replace it yourself but I am sure there will be lots to remove, the seal must be carefully pressed back in.

Why not invest in a car repair manual.

I am sure there will be more responces for you soon.

Cheers

Martin.

In Topic: James' Fiesta Mk6.5 Zetec S Tdci (Pic Heavy!)

04 May 2013 - 05:49 PM

Hi James, thinking of either a TDI box or a re-map from Angel tune.

I have been looking for a while and there is a good tutorial on fitting the TDI box on here to my exact model.

My 'friend' Lenny has also had his tdci re-mapped plus other stuff.

It really annoys me when I get stones bouncing off my cars as it was almost factory fresh when I bought it almost a year ago with 8,500mls but have done almost 27,000 mls so to be expected, almost all done on M6 so stones travelling at high speeds are expected to leave there mark!!

Any how all the best

Martin
