My oldest daughter is thinking of changing her car to a Fiesta Mk 7, I initially said get a 1.4 petrol as she will only cover about 10,000 mls in a year but I have looked at the 1.25 85 hp version as the insurance will be cheaper for her.

I am sure there are lots of you out there who have this version and I would appreciate your thoughts on this version, I have thought she ought to get the zetec but then there is the style and style plus.

can anyone tell me the difference between the two, do they all have air con and remote locking, knee air bags power steering.

I know that the zetec has heated windscreen.

Alloys are not at the top of the list.

Hi there,

have any of you had experience of bird lime affecting your paint.

I noticed some rather nasty looking dry bird lime on the rear bumper this morning it must have happened yesterday whilst parked at work, I think it might have been land gulls.

To my disapointment it looks as though it has affected the paint as you can  see the outline after a good washing .

I tried Mer polish but it did not shift it.

Anyone any ideas on shifting it or is it too late.

Me thinks the Ford paint is rather soft as it is showing lots of stone chips on the front end.

Hi members, this morning the temp was minus 2 for our 30 mile daily commute, once the car cabin had warmed up there started a most annoying squeak rather like a distressed mouse!!! was trapped near the near side windscreen area of the dash.
It appeared to be vibration/engine speed related.
This is the first time it has occured and we have had much colder mornings than this.
Any one have similar issues?
I note that there is a strip of foam type draught excluder at the junction of dash to screen, wonder if this may be worn.

Hi, took my 1.6 tdci 95 hp plastic engine cover off yesterday, I noticed a largish brass threaded hollow tube that was surrounded by a light film of oil-can't be right!
This looks to me as there is a missing threaded bung or something  2013-16-2 002.JPG   139.07K   99 downloads-see photo (I hope)
Can anyone have a look and let me know what you find.

I have noticed that during lower revs-between 1,600 to 2,000 in 5th gear the engine can produce a noise very similar to a petrol engine when the ignition is retarded, in other words pinking.
Now once the revs reach 2,000 the noise disappears .
I wonder if anyone else with this engine has similar experiences.
This is with either 1 or 2 passengers nothing else, on the flat even.
Any ideas?
