These are how you do proper mug shots. The first one is when I was 16 and the other is when I was 18. Don't know which is worse.

#343488 I Hate Car Insurance

Posted by Brigante on 16 March 2014 - 01:17 PM

I'm 24, 5-6years driving experience, 3years ncb. No motoring offences or other convctions.

Currently paying 795quid. Was 695quid but my job needed me to add business insurance which added 100quid to me policy.

Insurance due next month so I've been getting quotes. Gave hastings a go who my yunger sister is paying 500quid with when she's only got 2years of driving behind her.. They quoted me 5grand!!!

Done a moneysupermarket quote and the cheapest i got was 1500quid upwards. What the hell is going on!

Waiting to see what my renewal quote will be from current insurer. I thought quotes was supposed to go down with age and experience not up.

#322192 "taking Oval To Blue Horizon" Lenny's Build Thread 2010-2013

Posted by Brigante on 15 January 2014 - 08:09 PM

Hi Charlie,

i reckon the Osram Cool blue intense are a whiter light than the Osram Nightbreaker plus,

Osram say the nightbreakers are brighter than the cool blue, and that is true but i think the white beam is perfect for the low beam, goes nice with the 6000kelvin parking bulbs and cree fogs, but i would keep the Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs in for the high beam

How drastic is the difference in brightness on the road of the nightbreaker dipped compared to the cool blue dipped?

#321811 Turn Off Seat Belt Chime?

Posted by Brigante on 15 January 2014 - 01:27 AM

Higgsy beat me to it lol

I have also connected my car to my laptop using a modified elm327 cable and the elmconfig software to turn off the seatbelt chime. Not that I ever drive without my seatbelt, I just did it because I could lol

Lenny mate how do you find the brightness of the cool blue intense compared to that of the nightbreaker unlimiteds for night time driving?

And hyrule your diamond vision should pass the mot no problem. Examiners cant physically remove the bulbs to look for E marks. As long as it doesnt produce a stupidly blue light and just looks white you should be fine.

I know this cause my car sailed through its last mot with no advisories with osram cool blue hypers fitted which are also not E marked.

#320697 Going From 17" To 18" Alloys

Posted by Brigante on 12 January 2014 - 06:32 PM

I'm gonna be doing this myself this month or next month soon as the alloys I want are in stock

I've already bought the rack limiter kit. Thought I might as well as it's only 15quid

Ages mate. Spose it werent bad for a 5 plus 4quid for the clips.

Back onto the subject of me new blue led heater dials, i now have an issue i've just noticed. Not with me heater dials but with me 12v socket.

There is no power to it. I know its not the fuse though as the second 12v socket i fitted in me dash storage is still working and they both run off the same fuse.

I'm assuming i may have knocked the connector off the original 12v socket when trying to ram the mass of wiring back in me dash for me headunit.

Will have to take the kick panel off to invesigate.

Is there anything else that could stop it working?

what you finding the brightness like for the blue visions?

i was tempted but then i read on the listing that they are all about show and being the whitest, but the brightness is the same as that of a standard bulb

i've currently got osram cool blue hypers, by far the whitest bulbs i've seen but they just dont seem that bright some times n i'm thinking about reverting back to osram cool blue intenses

#313687 Engine Cover Help

Posted by Brigante on 20 December 2013 - 03:51 PM

no mate

i sold a 1.6 tdci engine cover from a focus on ebay

after advice from numerous fellow members i listed it as also fitting the focus c max as its the same engine

a focus c max owner bought it, but is trying to claim i miss-sold it to him saying it wont fit a focus c max and demanded his money back

i asked him to send me a photo of his engine and surprise surprise he sent me a photo exactly the same as your engine and it even has one of the mounting points already in place. he's just missing the bolt

so now thanks to your photos i can show him that it will fit as i can show him photos of the cover fitted to the same car

Not really that much of a mod seeing as I done it over a year ago but I've now re-carbon wrapped my interior

Quite a shoddy temp job as I tried but failed to sand off a lot of bad orange peel from a botched attempt of spraying them panther black a while ago so it's quite bumpy in places.

Gonna unwrap it all again when I can n get some white spirit on it to aid with sanding then re wrap once its all smooth

When I get the time n the right weather I'll attempt carbon dipping again
