#478327 Number Plate Lenses Pfl Vs Fl For Reversing Camera?

Posted by Brigante on 20 April 2015 - 09:20 PM

If its of interest, I have my old pfl focus reverse camera for sale

Still in pretty good condition I think and its a bit rarer than the standard black ones as it has a clear plastic lens to it so it matches the stock number plate light better. Only the camera itself is black

#476903 How To Tell A Bad Clutch

Posted by Brigante on 16 April 2015 - 01:48 PM

Most modern clutches self adjust, certainly the majority if not all of the clutches in modern Fords do.  Focus clutches tend to have a high bite point even from new & mileage wise a clutch can go at 20K if the driver has been driving like a spanner (lots of burn outs/launch starts etc) or it can go well over 100K.

My Mk2 Focus 1.8 TDCI is on it's original clutch & has just passed 120K with no slipping or vibrations (famous last words)

If it still drives OK I wouldn't worry TBH.

My clutch went on my old focus mk2 pretty much straight after it hit 120k

Knew something was wrong as it started to change gear erraticly, like I'd change up from 3rd to 4th, 4th to 5th etc and the revs would shoot right up pretty much red lining it and it would be hard to get them back down.

Another time was using cruise control, say I was driving along using the pedals, then pressed the resume button to return to my set cruising speed, again the revs would shoot right up really rapidly and as a result knock the cruise control off.

Knew something was up and I was actually driving to my mechanic to get it looked at when it completely died just coming onto the m42 20min away from my destination. I would have made the rest of my journey had it not been for complete morons hogging the outside lane repeatidly slamming their brakes on infront of me even though nothing was infront of them, then later getting bogged down in heavy traffic caused by scum bag lorrys drivers leap frogging each other on the a42. All of this meant I couldnt maintain a steady speed and had to keep clutching and braking and changing gear.

Clutch died, couldnt gain any speed, dropped from 70 - 60 - 50 - 40. Got dangerous, knew as soon as I stopped it wouldnt pull off again so I coaxed the poor old girl into the hard shoulder and she made the last 20mile journey to my mechanic on the back of an AA van.

Focus is currently on 125k and declared sorn as I now have a mondeo with 75k on it so whoever buys the focus will have a nice new clutch

#476663 I've Got Myself In A Dilema And Want Out

Drive the Vauxhall into a wall. Make sure it is solid, as you do not want to be held liable for any vauxhall shaped marks on the wall.
If there aren't any walls nearby, drop it off a cliff.

I haven't a clue how the two compare according to the info you require. But I can give you the following info:

The Fiesta isn't !Removed!, the Vauxhall is.
You will get 1,000,000 more street cred, as it has the Ford logo on. The Vauxhall logo removes all dignity and instantly turns the owner into a mong.

All the cool people drive Fords, see the following on this owners club. The Vauxhall fans suffer erectile dysfunction, herpes and are 100% more likely to wee themselves.

Ditching a Vauxhall for a Ford results in better health, will save dolphins, end World Hunger, and after 5 years of being away from Vauxhall Ownership you will be almost as healthy as you were pre-Vauxhall.

Happy to help

Quite possibly the best post I've read in my years of being on this forum :D

Going to a dealer was never going to be an option due to silly high prices

Euro car parts is also out as even with a tiny club discount I'm talking over 150quid

I think my best option will be the silver used bumper as the seller says theres no damage to it, it'll be genuine, it has the mounting brackets intact so it will save transferring my current ones over and it also comes with a lower grill

So when it comes to getting it resprayed, I'll put my sports grill on it to get it sprayed at the same time and put the standard grill temporarily on the mondy just so I dont have to drive round with a gaping hole in the front for a few days

Then when I've finally got the new bumper back n fitted I'll have a spare grill to sell on to recoup a couple quid

The chances of finding out what moron dropped the wood are extremely slim to none exisitant so making a claim against them is next to impossible.

I'm gonna have to try n walk into my local cop shop later today n report it

i'd never heard of the stupid superstition til the missus's mother came out with it

we went n bought the pushchair n car seat we wanted last night, 6months early i know but it was on a great offer where the car seat is free. the pushchair is the best one we've seen n we've looked at a lot n its just really really practical. found out it was being discontinued and it was a case of get it now or not at all. every local store was sold out and ended up driving to coventry to buy the last one they had there.

anyway back to the superstition, instead of keeping the pushchair here in our nice clean tidy flat in the spare bedroom where it will be safe for 6 months, its having to be dumped in her mothers horrible, dirty, mingin, moldy dining room (yes it really is that bad) where my missus's 2 young nephews can climb about on n do whatever to my expensive new pushchair as they are unwatched most of the time

as you can tell i aint happy about it n think its completely stupid

don't see any way he couldn't of been banned. complete dangerous idiot. child or no child should of been banned and for a lot longer in my opinion. then the fact he did have his poor terrified child in there with him should call for an even bigger penalty.

you should have been banned as well to be fair for doing over a 100 and i don't see how you wasn't

i drive a beasty 2.2 turbo diesel and obviously i'd love to put my foot down and see what i can get out of it but i'm too paranoid to go above 76 as knowing my luck the second i go above 80 i'd get pinged

growing up when i was a kid we had to get the bus everywhere and it was horrible as me old man must of lost his license at least 3 times in a row for speeding

Leave your car keys on her side of the bed,
So she can drive herself to Tesco in the middle o: the night,
Then when she goes to Tesco,
Sent her a text requesting an item from tesco while she is there.

ah thats what i thought lol the locker bit just went over my head

she doesn't drive though so not an option lol

i'm playing the dutiful doting boyfriend seeing to my baby mothers needs

while my son/daughter is in her belly she gets whatever she wants, whenever she wants

even if it means numerous trips to tesco in the early hours lol

i'm sure the night staff in there must think i'm a right stoner keep turning up for random munchies at silly hours

This is coming from a bloke with 3 sisters and no brothers mate. It was horrible and embarassing growing up. Also my cousins was all female part from one.

Do you think I'd an army of sisters/cousins turning up outside school when all the other boys got their big brothers down?

Thanks for all the kind words folks

The Missus and I have been together now for 4 years and 4 months so it certainly feels like the right time to have a family of my own. I'm prepared for the increased stress and sleepless nights to come but I know it will all be definitely worth it. I'm gonna be a proud daddy.

My Missus agrees with you there Phil mate, she says I'm gonna have no money to spend on Titan anymore :( obviously it will be much better spent on baby. Already got our eyes on a new set of wheels, complete with two cup holders, glove box, big boot and even a sun roof so in a way better spec'd out than the mondeo

Missus also agrees with Clive in that it looks like a girl. Going by the skull shape theory. Naturally, she wants a girl so she can dress it up in pink frilly things and naturally I want a little me, so that when I do have a daughter she'll have a big brother to look after her.

Obviously whatever we have, he/she will be loved all the same. Though I have said that if we do have a girl I'm buying a shotgun to follow her around with :)
