Only if its badly maintained, walk away and find another car.
Buy a 1.6 TDCi if you want a diesel.

My previous car was a Mondeo, had Michelin Alpins as a spare winter set and they were 7 years old and stored in the garage in a pile with no damage.
The bottom tyre was on a sheet of plywood to lift it off the floor.
My current Fiesta has a set of Alpin A4's and these are stored in the same way.

How many miles a day are you doing?
If you have the climate control set where it has to work it may not stop the engine as it will require more power to start the engine.
By raising the temp to a higher setting the climate control, has less work to do and will use the stop start system as intended.
The battery must have sufficient charge to work the stop start system.

The wrong grade of oil could cause problems, I take it the car is 2012 as in your sig? Where was it serviced?
