Dash Illumination

28 May 2013 - 07:15 AM

Hi everyone.Have a small but annoying issue with my MK3's dasnboard illumination. The computer window set in the rev counter no longer illuminates, not a problem, just annoys me.Haven't looked at it yet.Does anybody know if it's an easy fix,or am I best off putting up with it?

Misfire Update

30 August 2012 - 10:39 AM

It has now been suggested that the cause of my misfire is probably due to the ecu needing to be re-mapped.It has now been sent away to be done. Will wait with bated breathe as to the outcome. At £200,it better cure it

Misfire

25 August 2012 - 11:09 AM

Hi everyone.I posted a topic earlier in the month reguarding a loss of compression on my 1.8LX 51 plate Mondeo. The fault was indeed a burnt out valve.Had it replaced at a garage for considerably less than I was quoted from someone else, however, after picking car up,the eng man light was still on and the tickover was very lumpy. The car just didn't feel right.Took it back to garage where a fault reader pinpointed a misfire on number 4 cylinder, the same one as the burnt valve.A new set of leads & a new coil pack were put on but made no difference.Compression test was ok but the spark plug from number 4 was caked in oil (again). They now have the car back & are replacing the injector o rings.Does anybody think this will help or is another strip down required? They ruled out inlet manifold.Think this saga is going to drag on

Loss Of Compression

04 August 2012 - 09:32 AM

Help! My Mondeo has all of a sudden lost compression on number 4 cylinder.Drove to work on Monday night,no problems.Got in it to drive home after work and severe lack of power and poor running was evident.Had mobile mechanic look at it the following day.He removed the plugs and the one from number 4 cylinder was covered in oil.He then did compression test which revealed there was virtually none there. He said probably a broken valve and would cost between £400 & £500 to fix.Does anyone know of a cheaper option as the car only cost £1300 in Jan.It is a 1.8LX on a 51 plate. Not sure if it's worth spending that kind of money on it.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Hi everyone. Just joined the world of internet forums. I currently drive a Mondeo 1.8LX on a 51 plate. Have owned Fords all my life, with the exception of the odd Vauxhall. Have a major problem with said Mondeo at the moment. Wil post query under technical advice. hope someone can help as I think it could be the end of my current Ford
