#321680 Fog Lights - Only Legal In Fog?

Posted by Mr Singh on 14 January 2014 - 07:49 PM

there is another thing i dont understand, why do some drive with there side lights on and there front fogs? i mean dip beam gives a better view of the road than just side and fogs... and if you have a look as the light stalk on Honda's, Toyota's, Peugeot's for example there fog light switch is ON the stalk itself and not a separate button on the dash so when the driver switched there lights on, there fingers catch the fog light switch which results in the fogs being illuminated.... same when the fog lights are switched on genuinely the rear is switched off when the lights are switched off but the fronts stay on.

they are called FOG lights for a reason...

incorrect usage of lights in a PROPER pet hate of mine, right from no lights when its dark to only using side lights (even some cases of no lights) when its foggy.

#284802 Engine Swap

well will need EVERYTHING from the donor car from the engine bay. you will need the engine, gearbox, drive shafts, ECU, wiring harness, possibly keys, new hubs and brakes if the engine is from a different car.

#284151 V-Power Nitro+ And Unexpected Side Effect

Posted by Mr Singh on 21 August 2013 - 05:27 PM

I'm lead to believe they are phasing out standard V-Power altogether in favour of the Nitro brand....?

same shizzel different name in my mind.

you should see me on the smart forums... new owners not getting the name of there cars correct e.g. fourfour, fourtwo.

#283922 V-Power Nitro+ And Unexpected Side Effect

Posted by Mr Singh on 20 August 2013 - 06:50 PM

Hi guys.

This is a bit of a strange one this............

I thought I would try using V-Power diesel in my new car (only had it a month) to see if I could notice any benefits over supermarket fuel as in smoother engine, increased MPG etc etc

I accidentally put something called NITRO+ in by accident as I didn't realise Esso did anything other than just V-Power.

Gutted when I had filled the tank (extra 8p per litre) :(

didnt realise that esso also sold V-Power nitro+... i always thought it was only shell?! :D

V-Power changed to V-Power nitro+ around febuary march time.

#254465 Ford Mondeo Tdci 2.2 St 155 Egr Valve..............

Posted by Mr Singh on 22 April 2013 - 08:36 PM

dont be silly. the only true way to test an egr valve is to see the voltages from it,and it opening/closing  while car is running.(like i did yesterday with a snap-on ethos reader. it tells you how open/closed the egr valve is& if the vacuum etc is operating normally.).blanking off is to combat smoke problems that older more worn engines emit.its not solving anything, only masking it,& in turn making the problem hidden

i should have elaborated more in what i said. if you have starting issues and you suspect the EGR valve is stuck open then blank it to confirm the fault if you dont have a diagnostic tool at hand

#248398 Advice Please

Posted by Mr Singh on 01 April 2013 - 04:13 PM

you will need the release bearing for an MTX gearbox. i replaced the clutch on my mums old mk1 2.0 focus and we got the wrong release bearing and found its got the same gearbox out of a transit van
