Topics I've Started

Eml Issues

06 June 2013 - 05:59 PM

as some may know my mums focus was suffering a lack of power and has had its coil pack replaced in august last year, the EML came back on 8 months later with a coil pack fault. that was replaced under parts warranty. and all was well until 2 weeks ago when it came back on again. i checked the codes with my laptop and it came up with P0000 which was of no help so it was booked in to ford for the codes reading and they gave my dad the details today as he forgot and were busy to get it sooner.

anyhow now for the details. the code logged was apparently P000A-E1 VCT intake solenoid. is the VCT sensor(s) the ones on the drive belt side of the engine near the oil cap?

Dab Retro Fit

21 April 2013 - 06:57 PM

do ford sell a DAB module for the 6000CD radio (with AUX button)?

i contacted ford parts uk and they suggested a module that ford apparently sell but it looks like a universal DAB kit that you find on ebay.

the kit consists of the module, wiring harness and the DAB aerial. there is no separate screen, all the info is displayed on the radio screen

and anyone know if fords EPC is online? i know of a russian site for mercedes EPC, i was just thinking there might be one for ford aswell

P2303 Code

30 March 2013 - 06:51 PM

my dad kept complaining that an orange light kept coming on the dash and yesterday it stayed on and its the engine management light.

plugged my laptop into the focus and read the codes. the only code logged was P2303 and a quick google later the description for the code was 'Ignition Coil "B" Primary Control Circuit Low' but no information about it.

any idea on what it could be? it definitely not plugs or the ignition coil as its running and driving fine.

its a 55 reg (2006) 1.6 petrol, 115bhp focus saloon with the variable valve timing and its done 46,000 miles

Is The Clutch On Its Way Out?!?

12 November 2012 - 08:07 PM

as my parents were on holiday last week i used mums focus instead of my forfour for the commute to work and i noticed that the engine would rev up quickly but the speed stayed the same or rose slowly when setting off at a round about on the york ring road. i tried the clutch slip test, put it in 5th at 30 and floor it and there was no clutch slip which lead me to think its possibly spinning the wheels slightly (im unsure of its got traction control as its a 55 reg 1.6 saloon). anyhow picked my parents up yesterday from manchester and as i joined the M62 from the M60 the engine revs went up quickly but the speed rose slowly, i was in 2nd going up the slip road at about 30/40ish.

now if it is the clutch thats on its way could i get ford to replace it under goodwill as its got full ford history untill 2011 when we bought it. iv used genuine ford service kits/items (6th and 7th year services) from ford, serviced it myself but iv kept the recipts as proof of history.

Passanger Door Mirror Cost

21 October 2012 - 02:02 PM

anyone know how much an electric passanger door mirror for a 2006 focus would be? im unsure if its heated or not
someone has tried to rip it off the car earlier this week and my dad tried to 'fix' it and broke it even more
the mirror part is ok, its just the plastic part where it bolts to the door that was cracked and now broken due to dad 'trying' to straighten it
