#361978 Philips Blue Vision Vs Osram Cool Blue Intense

Posted by Aldoo on 08 May 2014 - 06:30 PM

not got them yet, but I'm sure they will be :)
and I had cool blue side lights too

led sidelights do look smart - but they get too hot and cause that multicolour pulsing effect you sometimes see so I prefer normal bulbs instead

are you using 6 or 12 point sockets? try a 6, i always find they dont slip as much (i said i find - i dont want some physics person coming stating why it makes no difference!) hahaa

have you got an impact gun or anything like that?

#323459 Showroom Clean

I prefer MF mits to the lambs wool - i actually got the ones off ebay where you can get cloths for about 50p each and get a free mit with every 10! Haha
But each to their own obviously :)

I have 2 of those drying towels too. 1 for windows and one for paint - just in case i get any sort if wax on the towel i dont want it on ny windows.

There's thousands of everything though, just play around mate :)

#321500 "taking Oval To Blue Horizon" Lenny's Build Thread 2010-2013

I had osram cool blue for about a year, i replaced them with the Philips blues when they blew

IMO id go for the osrams, they're the whitest light when you're driving, but have a bluer look when you look at them :)

#316251 Terraclean Findings

Posted by Aldoo on 30 December 2013 - 07:24 PM

glad to hear you've had good results :)

I've recently heard that the oil flushes that people do can really damage an engine because some of the 'rubbish' in the engine is filling the scores which its already made (if that makes any sense)

...not sure if the terraclean is a different sort of thing though

out of interest, what age/mileage have your cars got?

Cheers

#315407 What Have You Bought Your Ford For Christmas

Sounds like good stuff then ..seems a waste using it to flush it!! I saw the fully synthetic was the same price as semi so i just got it. Think I'll use shell helix for the main oil though

#296185 18 To Learn To Drive

Posted by Aldoo on 11 October 2013 - 10:09 PM

I think some of these are alright ideas - but they are all nearly impossible to introduce!

I drove my mums 1.2 punto for about a year when I passed

Then I got a job which required a fair bit of driving - so at 18 yrs old I got a 1.8 focus and have now covered nearly 20k, including driving home from work sometimes later than 11PM (plus some social driving even later)  + driving work vans

so far (fingers crossed/touch wood and all that!) iv had no tickets or incidents

When im looking at all these possible rules I think they're good to reduce the trouble that some new drivers get in - but I cant help thinking how much of a nightmare it would be if they were in place when I passed!!

Put your selves in a new drivers position and try tell me you wouldn't hate it!!

And iv also got a bike licence through this new 2 part style and thought that id let you know that its totally killing motorcycle riding - new bike sales are down 70% since 2010, and I don't know a figure, but theres a tiny amount of new riders about now!!

#293052 Polish????? Help

Posted by Aldoo on 27 September 2013 - 10:53 PM

if you're looking for protection then you need to be aware that polish and wax are 2 very different things

polish for a shine and light scratch removal

wax to seal the paint and protect it   - this also stops the polished finish washing straight off

for people to help we need to know what your aim is - and also the paint colour for if theres any people who really know their stuff!

..then sit back and watch the disagreements and arguments :P haha

don't talk to me about your flashy add-ons!! :P hahaa

I think the only way to do it if you want to maintain use of it when it is needed is to use the elm cable - but I really don't know about it mate

#288380 Fuel Filter On 1.8 Tdci

Posted by Aldoo on 06 September 2013 - 07:39 PM

I serviced my car this year, was dead proud when I did it all and started it ...heart sank when it cut out 10 seconds later!!

I ended up brimming as best I could with a length of shower hose and then sucking it through with my mouth by putting it on the top of the filter cap whilst it was shut

...I REALLY wouldn't recommend it!! lol
