if you dont want a nice story of my day skip down the page ..

 

 

been rushing to throw my 18"s on today

its earlier than i wanted but i was checking the car over and found the fronts were very close to the limit

 

as i bought second hand i put 35PSI in them just to exaggerate any punctures (but all was well)

 

 

i drove about 30 miles today and noticed a bit of a noise and also it was just floating when cornering at moderate speeds.

i put this down to high pressure without thinking too much into it and put them down to 32

 

 

when driving and shaking the steering wheel (in a 'boyracer-tire-warming' fashion, as a TEST!) i though it still felt a bit floaty. but when i got to a roundabout it seemed glued well enough

 

 

im now thinking the 'spongeyness' is normal, but obviously im not a nob who does it and would notice! haha

 

 

..Long story short:

im thinking maybe run 33 front, 32 rear (as the diesel engine weighs about 29 tonnes(some clarkson style exaggeration there ))

 

what do others running 18s have in their tires?

Just after a bit input on decattign a mk2 1.8 tdci focus

 

dont know if anyones looked, but the cat on them is right after a bend out of the engine and then a flexi pipe straight after.  looks totally different to the other ford cats which have decats on ebay

 

looks like my going to have to reck the current cat to do this, which obviously im not overly happy about

 

 

iv thought of several options for it but cant settle on a definite one

 

 

 

also, it seems every garage looks at the issue of decat diesels differently, some are fine some arent. the most recent i went to said it was instant fail if they see it missing

 

 

..if i find one happy without having the actual cat and its just off the emisions it also seems like the result will be totally luck. some diesels are fine on suet, others will struggle!

 

 

Any inputs are welcome guys   ..have you had on or looked? ..anything! lol

been asking for advice on mods since I came on here, and of the many I asked about iv actually done a couple!

So im just going to show where im at at the moment

first, out side - nothing to show except the little universal mudflaps

its actually pretty spotless here (appart from screen wash on bonnet!), its all just reflections


Next is the interior lights
With it being a sport model it had a basic single festoon light, so i swapped that for a one with map lights. currently has a small LED plate (which i needed to chop down the cable straight to the holder because of the small space)
and two white T10 led map lights

cant really see, but also got Richbrook gearknob and tax disc holder

Finally, fitted a second boot light - blue 48 led plates

excuse the mess!

More to add in a bit

bought some genuine 18" ST alloys ..i think!

got a bit suspicious when i saw the ford badge was pretty messy, and on the other side it looks like it just pops out
theres also no ford markings anywhere on the wheels

Can anyone shine any light on how to check or offer any advise?
