#513988 Things I Don't Like

Don't do it don't be tempted by the dark side my boy.

The VXR might be fast but they can't go round corners, that's why so many end up wrapped around trees, unlike the ST so we'll always have you in a race.

#512743 Premium Fuel Vs Standard

Posted by Philf1 on 16 August 2015 - 12:35 PM

I use shell v power most of the time but if I'm doing a long motorway run that's just going to empty the tank I put in standard shell to save a few quid then refill with v power. I've never put supermarket fuel in the ST

Annoying thing was she started 3 years ago the first year of the increased fees. £9k a year and still couldn't guarantee a tutor would turn up for lectures. Anyway she got her degree so all good now. Looking forward to the graduation ceremony now.

#510195 Best Tyres

My car came with Bridgestone on and they lasted 14500 my sons are dead after 12500. I've now got conti sport contact 5 on and they're much better grip and are quieter. Done 7k on them and no worse than last set so happy with that.

Everyone has their own opinion on tyres so go with what you want most good grip or long life you can't have both whatever they claim.

Guys I've started a thread to gauge interest for Squires meet

#509371 Squires Cafe Ford Meet

Posted by Philf1 on 05 August 2015 - 06:17 PM

A few of us Yorkies are thinking about going to the end of season Ford Meet at Squires cafe east of Leeds near the A1M. The event takes place on 27th September 2015 and is one of two Ford meetings held here each year, the other being in April.

The Squires website has details http://www.squires-c..._on_at_squires/

They have camping and caravan facilities if anyone wants to stay overnight.

I've spoken to James and if we can get enough interest he is happy to make a booking so that we can have a FOC stand. You don't have to be a Yorkie to attend by the way although you may need your passport to get in.  :whistling:

No details of times or costs are known at the moment but I don't think it will be too much and should certainly be less than Ford Fair.

So if you are interested please post below and let's see how many folks we can get together.

Just need to press that loud pedal a bit harder Phil, that gets the best out of it. I've found the car just gets to the higher rev range more smoothly and quicker and the power is just more instant no hesitation like you could get before the upgrade.

Have to think about the short shifter next to get through the gears quicker, used to have one on my Imprezza and found it was a real bonus when driving hard.
