On the facelift you need red PR21W/BAW15s.
I'm also looking for some on e-bay but I'm still not sure that they are strong enought during the day.
Now there are a lot of models using 5050 leds (3 cips) so they might be strong enough.

No, the lower spec GEM modules don't support Cruise Control.
It is very difficult to find out which part numbers do support Cruise Control.
I have got a GEM module with part number 7M5T-14A073-JF and this one definately supports Cruise Control.
Being able to activate Cruise control configuration in GEM with the ELM cable means the GEM supports Cruise Control?

It failed for me also, after the radio went to sleep mode, ran it again after and finished without any issues.
