As I said its what I read and if it does take me from around 52MPG up to 60 then its worth it, if it doesn't then I have a set of alloys and will be happy.
I will keep on my research but if it works then happy days.

I had the 05 focus 1.6 and didn't really get on with it and then with a new job my mileage went up a lot so was looking at a diesel So went for the fiesta and I love it, feels responsive, nice amount of power to cruise along (you wont win a race in it). seats are comfy and all round just prefer it over the focus.
cheers for the welcome people.

That could be true, the reports i have seen have taken it from 52MPG up to 60MPG i know it doesn't sound much but it all helps.
I know the cost will out way the benefit for a while, But as i only have steels on there are the moment i think alloys will make it look nicer as well as help MPG, also i am in the position where i need 4 new tyres so will have to spend out for them anyway and the cost of alloys on top of new tyres is smaller than getting them just because i would like them.
Cheers for the help.

I have done the Tyre calculation and it comes out as 7mm difference which is 1.3% so I am happy with that.
Cheers for the advice, I take it when you say fitments you mean the PCD and studs?
I have done some research and found that by going down to the 14" wheels with 175/65 tyres on them it will increase your fuel consumption, I do a lot of miles and if this helps then its worth a try.
