Interior Trim Removal.

22 February 2013 - 11:11 AM

Hi all. I have a very annoying rattle in B post where the seat belt is drivers side. I plan to sort it out and have good knowledge of stripping cars having worked in a body shop in the past but just need to check a couple of things before I go ahead. The top cover has a little plate that says airbag on it, does that pop out to reveal any thing and is it safe to just remove that cover or do i need to disconnect the airbag first? And are both covers simply pull of. I'm sure I've seen another thread on here ref a creaking from this area but mine seems to be more rattle. Has anyone else experienced the same thing and found the source. Thanks

Auxiliary Socket

Well had the car for just under a week and loving it. Just one thing that is a little disappointing, the stereo. Good sound but after finding out that its not bt capable, I have now found out that it won't play mp3 discs either. Loaded an ipod and connected that to the aux in socket via 3.5 to 3.5 jack lead and alls well sound wise. Trouble is this renders the skip function of the steering wheel controls useless. So the question is. Can the aux lead be converted to ipod cable. My mates Audi has a proper ipod connection in the glove box and it works with the controls and wondering if the same is possible with these units. 6000 cd curved style

Galaxy S3 6000Cd

Hi all. Today I picked up my 57 reg 2.0 tdci zetec mondeo and loving every minute of it. First job is to fit the tailgate modification but whilst I'm waiting for the strips another little thing has got me confused. I own a galaxy s3 and thought that it would be able to connect to the 6000cd hu in the car via bluetooth. When I did a scan the following showed on my phone c3300k(06**). When I tried to pair to this I got a message stating "unable to pair to c3300k(06**). I have searched through google and watched a video on you tube but to no avail. The video showed how to enter advanced menu and tutn on bt but my hu doesn't show this option. Any ideas

Back Into A Mondeo

Hi to all.
Today i have purchased a 57 plate 2.0 tdci zetec in tonic blue. It has 53000 on the clock looks and drives nice. Not got it yet as there's a couple of bits that the garage are soring out for me so left it with them with plans to collect asap.

Once at home i intend to look at sorting the water into the boot problem with the plastic channels i've read about and am hoping someone might be able to help me out with another little job. I noticed that some of the buttons on the centre console and stereo were chipped and peeling and i'm wondering if these buttons can be popped of and replaced if i can source some. Hope this makes sense.
cheers. Richard

Just How Bad

11 January 2013 - 10:32 PM

Are the water leaks that I've read about on the convertibles.

The reason i ask is i am in the position to replace my car, Rover 45 2L td 2001. Wife has a 2001 focus petrol which is a great drive and after much discussion we have come to the conclusion that we would like to finally own a convertible.

Looking through auto-trader are budget will cover several models Focus 07-08, Astra 07-08,
Megane 07-08, Pug 307 07-08.

I'm one for checking reviews and noticed the Astra has a few issues with the roof motors and leakage. The focus seemed to get good owner reviews but having now looked a bit more they appear to be worst for leaking.
Now the dilemma both the pug and the megane seem to get absolutely glowing reviews from owners and I'm thinking these would be a better option but French cars always get frowned upon by us Brits.

So can anyone on here confirm how good or bad the focus really is and does anyone know owners of the others and their experiences of owning them.
