Cd Interference? Ipod Problem Also!

04 May 2013 - 08:40 PM

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem?  2007 ford fiesta zetec with standard ford single cd unit and when I am playing cds they seem to play all right for a while and then I start to get interference through the unit and I end up giving up on the cd and listening to the radio!

I have tried a couple of different cd lens cleaners but it hasn't made any difference.

Can anyone advise?

Aso when the car was bought it came with a few extras which included an ipod connection.  I have a lead that I connect to the ipod and plug in but I often get the sound coming and going and I have to jiggle around the lead until the sound comes out through the speakers properly.  I don't know if it would be the lead or the connection in the car.  Any idea on what it is more likely to be?  I would rather get advice here first before contacting the garage.

thanks

Help With What Service Items Required Please - Fiesta Zetec 2007

12 March 2013 - 05:46 PM

Hi, I am hoping to get some help here on what items to purchase to service a 2007 ford fiesta 1.4 zetec.

I am getting the service done as a homer and the mechanic is not a
Ford mech so I wanted to make sure I had all the parts present for the
job.

The car was last serviced just over a year ago and the spark plugs were changed. Am I right in thinking that these are changed infrequently?

I was thinking I needed to get:

oil

oil filter

air filter - not sure how often this should get changed?

pollen filter - is this the same as air filter - does the car have one?? can anyone advise

brake fluid? again not sure if it would be required - does this get done within a set time or mileage covered?

coolant replaced?? I topped up the coolant before this winter as the
level was near the minimum - is a top up ok or should it get flushed out
and replaced?

Have I missed anything??

The car has done a very low mileage - currently sitting around 19k I think and has covered app 4k since last service.

Would really appreciate any advice so I can be organised!

I have posted my query on maintenance section also so hopefully someone will pick it up and be able to help

Antifreeze - Top Up?

08 October 2012 - 09:27 PM

Looking for some advice regarding coolant. Just noticed on my mums fiesta that the coolant level is sitting slightly under the minimum level. The car runs with no overheating issues but I was wondering if I should top up the antifreeze or do I just add a bit of water?

It is a 2007 fiesta zetec with 17k on the clock.

I am getting a bit confused with whether it is ok to just top up the level or does it need emptied and refilled with new antifreeze? Some information says that it should be changed at 5 years but other information online says that Ford antifreeze should be ok for 10 years??

I am sure that last year when the car got serviced the coolant was checked and it was ok. Can anyone confirm that Ford antifreeze is now all purple in colour and is ok to mix it with the current antifreeze that is in the car which appears to be a pinkish colour.

Ay advice is appreciated.
