The hissing noise is just the fuel rail it comes in down that side from the tank in fuel lines etc, it's also made to sound worse because that's also where the air intake is so it is sucking air in anyway.

I'm sorry but my humble little 1.4 fiesta (1st car) will hit a ton with some revs, and my insurance was 1800 first year so I would have thought your policy might be one where you will be paying most of the money out if you do shunt it, and also a big warning is don't go caning it get caught speeding twice in 3 years and it will be a very expensive blue driveway ornament.

Never heard of that with the Windows, I think you understand what I'm saying in that if you switch the AC on the light will come on regardless of whether the system actually works that just proves there is power in all the right places.

Nope that's probably just the way it is the light will remain lit whether the system is running or not.
