There is a method, you can clear the light via an OBDII adapter, but there is some fuel cap process you can follow...
Moving this thread to the general ford section, might get more exposure and someone who knows off the top of their head.
I have a thread in mind that is relating to a JML kit someone bought and they did this themselves, I will need to dig it out, but as lunch is over, I will have to do it later...

The Haynes manual does list the fuel cap process but states that it will only work if the MIL or PCL light is not already illuminated. It didn't work for me unfortunately.
I did wonder if tricking the system into thinking I'd fuelled up a few times would sort of prime the system.
