In Topic: Rubbish Aerial Reception Mk2 Ford Focus

I have found if I switch off the engine the reception on AM is as good as ( my FM while I'm driving ) just wondering if it's a suppression fault or is that a memory from my past  ?

There may be some truth to that as the static sometimes gets worse/louder as I accelerate?

Good suggestion Lenny. I like the idea of car park, food and toilet :) Would come in handy after a long drive indeed. Then convoy to a scenic spot for pictures would be the cherry on top.

How far would that be for you kpg? Is it too far? Maybe take a sick day off work? I could give you a cert :P

Lol get me a cert then :P

It's around 120 miles away :-/

Any ideas folks getting great reception on FM crap on AM . 6000cd 57 plate

Hi mate, my MW is useless as well, has interference/static on every station. I try to listen to 5 Live and TalkSport, both MW, and can hardly hear a thing through all the static.

Theres the Lake Land Retail Park in Cavan,
May be an option?
Large car park space, food and toilets, perhaps gather there and travel in convoy to a more scenic area for pictures aswell,

Good suggestion but gawd I wouldn't get the time off work to do that trip :(

Lenny, fire away with suggestions as we might as well put our thinking caps on and start planning ahead. I don't mind driving as long as it's not a huge trek. Once I get home, I will look up some places.

By the sounds of it, halfway between Northern Ireland and Republic would suit the majority of us? Do correct me if I'm wrong :)

Looking forward to this and getting excited: First FOC Ireland meet :)

I agree. Everyone meet halfway, seems the fairest way to go.
