I have a problem that started few days ago on my 2008 1.6TDCi Focus 38,000 miles, constant hissing type noise that stops when I touch brake pedal, whether car moving or parked with engine running. It also continues for couple of seconds after turning engine off.
No performance or other issues yet, but as seems to be associated with brakes don't want to wait too long!
An identical issue was mentioned in previous post http://www.fordowner...n-acceleration/ , but thread did not have conclusion. Have PM'd originator, but he has not been active for long time.
Have tested servo by pumping brake pedal etc. and seems ok to me. Have looked for air leaks using smoke, but no signs of blowing or sucking. Can't hear noise when sat in passenger seat, or with bonnet up when other noises are dominant.
