#427832 E-Bay Seller Doing My Head In!!!!!!

Posted by Turvey on 12 November 2014 - 05:50 PM

Arghhh! Where do I start?

Oldest son(13) saved up his pocket-money etc  got us to purchase an iPhone 4 off evil-Bay for him from a seller with, seemingly, a good large feedback, on the 29th of August.

Phone worked for a couple of weeks but then the Wi-fi button 'greyed out' ie couldn't connect to wi-fi. We contacted them, asking to return it for a refund.Their response was, to me, a load of gobbledegook but they recomended watching a youtube video    and follow the steps it contained. We did this and it did work......for a week!

This time they said send it back for an inspection, it was returned to us, working. but by the 21st of October it went faulty again!

We again messaged them asking for it to be returned for a full refund. Remember this would be the 2nd time we've returned it and are now £5.00s worth of postage down.

There then followed a few messages back and forth with us asking for confirmation that we would get a full refund including 2 lots of postage, which I could copy and paste if anyone is really bothered but don't really expect you to.

Anyway we sent it back with a request for a full refund at the begining of last week. In the post today was.........the 'fixed' phone!!!!!!!

So the question is, after this long rambling rant, what do we do now?

A) Keep and use the phone until it, undoubtably, breaks again and return it again?

B ) Contact the seller demanding a refund?

C) Open a case against them with e-Bay and/or Paypal?

or D) Any other course of action that I'm not aware of?

If anyone's interested the sellers are http://www.ebay.co.u..._bargain_corner

Would I buy again? I think you'll know my response!

This incident has strengthened my views on 2 things.

1) Don't buy anything over 20 quid on eBay from anyone you don't know or have heard of.

2) (CR)Apple products are OK until they don't work! If it were up to me I wouldn't allow another one in the house

Yep, projector hooked up to a laptop throwing it onto greaseproof/baking paper stuck to the inside of the window  :)

Here's a couple of clips from a couple of years ago at our old house. We've just moved recently and most of my 'mucking about with' stuff is in storage just now so I could only do one window with no sound  :(

I had an iPod docking station sitting on the ground outside the window hooked up for the sound effects.

And keeping an eye on things...

If you Google 'Hallowindow' you'll find a lot of stuff about doing it  ;)

hgv class one driver.not seen many on here

Another one here although I haven't actually driven a 'bendy' truck in 18 years!

I work for our local authority(council) mainly driving a hook-lift lorry servicing our local amenity sites, taking the full skips to the waste transfer station and taking containers full of baled waste to the shipping company for shipping up to Shetland to let them burn it!

Here's my normal daily driver...

And the best thing about HGV driving up here?  ;)  :)

Had the car for 18 months and I only discovered it(by accident) tonight!

Very handy as we've just shifted into rented accomodation with off-road parking at the back of the house where no street lights shine.

Just saying  :)  :)  :)

Well, that's embarrassing!

The original picture was of a boy and a dog sitting on a sofa but the seller has obviously noticed his mistake and changed it

Mind you, he's also noticed his mistake and is selling the Vectra! Bu-dum tish!   :)

Ah brilliant, is it quite a bit shorter than the originals? I'm on a tight budget at the moment anyway, so it's definitely a good price. I don't want to leave the aerial bit exposed to the elements but I just can't have the standard aerial on there. Plus also the original is a bit broken up around the base too, so it needs replacing.

Don't know what the original one measures as there wasn't one on the car when we got it but this one is 11 inches long. Flexible enough too so you can bend it under the roofbox etc  ;)
