#540904 The St Arrived!

Posted by JoeZS19 on 16 November 2015 - 07:43 PM

Nice one mate, looks good! I went from a ZS to an ST and best decision I ever made haha.
Wouldnt bother with an expensive alarm system in all honesty just get a Disklok!

I agree, disklok and moving/disabling the obd port is your best bet.. They do look nice in black, considering a black one next

#487364 Best Polish/wax To Use Opinions

Posted by JoeZS19 on 18 May 2015 - 08:19 PM

I use

Wash - dodo juice basics of bling or auto glym

Polish - auto finesse or chemical guys

Seal - chemical guys jet seal

Wax - dodo juice hard candy

Wheels - valet pro bilberry or sonax

Quick detail spray - chemical guys pro detailer

Always use two buckets and two wash mits (top and bottom of car), jet wash or hose, and a drying towel.

Always looking to try new products though :).

I'm getting the same as I was in my 1.0 Zetec s, but I think it's because the st's power and torque is so much better, where as in my zs I had to give it some to get it to go.

Defo loving the car so far!

Spirit blue (I know it's common aha but I really like it).. Yeah I can't wait for the brakes, tyres & engine to be bedded in a bit and get to plant my foot!
The inside feels a lot classier to with the black headliner and perforated wheel

Some headlight bulbs come with a pair of upgraded 501 bulbs which can be used for side lights or number plate bulbs. They aren't quite as white as LEDs but have more of an improved OEM look, as opposed to the bright white spot you get with some LEDs that make it hard to read the number plate lol.

What bulbs have you got Phil? Yeah I looked at led's for the number plate but like you said I don't want a concentrated spot in one place more of an even spread

So went to the dealers today and signed my papers, pick my st2 up on Friday!

Got a few plans when I get it..
Wash and detail.
Change of headlight bulbs.
Security measures.
I've got a short aerial at home which I may try, although it gave poor signal on my Zetec s for some reason.
Possible wind deflectors.

But most of all just enjoy the car, been after one for ages so really looking forward to owning one.

Also contemplating taking out the gap insurance, anyone got any views on it?

I'll post some pics when I get it of course ;)

#482289 2 Problems With My New Fiesta

Posted by JoeZS19 on 03 May 2015 - 09:57 PM

I had issues when I had my 2010 Zetec s with the radios bluetooth not working correctly, there is an update you can do with the USB port and download from ford but I never bothered with it..with the radio not playing the song/no sound when the phones plugged in. How have you plugged the phone in? As I only found the music would play via a aux cable and not the usb?

14" will fit on the back, don't think it will on the front. Correct space saver has a 125/80R15 tyre, some say you shouldn't put a spacesaver on the front though.

Yes, keyless start can be stolen via OBD, worth taking the fuse out, moving the port up behind the dash ( fit a dummy socket though)

Disklok (size small) is probably the best visual deterent/wheel lock available, shouldn't cheap out on something that important, try eBay for a used one if necessary.

Get gap insurance try ALA, £130-170 for 3 years depending on cover.

The standard bridgestones don't work very well below 7 degrees they are definitely a summer tyre, so it's going to be similar to the ZS.

Drove my zs in the snow and didn't have any issues. May lol into other tyres when I get my St though.

How come you recommend fitting a dummy port? Is it just so the thieving scum takes longer to figure things out?

Could always paint the drums black, and the front calipers a different colour?. Yeah it does look good with the St diffuser. Only reason I'm not doing mine is im getting an St next month ;)
