Thanks JW1982 for the TSB,

I visited my local Ford dealer about three weeks ago, showing him the (TSB 26/2013 fault), He only recognised the fault after i provided the info you posted.

He placed an order for replacement Satnav but today he telephoned me to say he couldn't offer an replacement or help as this fault is only covered in Germany/France/Austria or England. Its written on the bottom of the TSB. Can you tell me if this is right?

As i'm based in Ireland my Ford dealer don't recognise the fault. He offered to order a new Satnav if i wished for and small price of 1250 Euro!!!

So the Satnav has a recognised fault by Ford or Blaupunt and can be repaired or replaced if living in most places of Europe but not in Ireland?

Any idea's on the subject.

What about Ford Europe?

Do you know address or contact if want to step up the problem above to my local dealer?

Help

Hi Colin,

i replaced the aerial at the back of the sat nav with a new ford aerial which has two wires built into one which didn't fix the problem! If you press the info key next to the Home key on the front of the satnav it should show how many satelites its tracking, if it shows none then the aerial is indeed faulty.

I ordered this Antenna GPS active connection Fakra or type gps antenna fakra satnav for audi mmi dvd and connected it to the connector at the back of the satnav head next to the aerial connector. Hope this helps.

Anyhow for some reason, today my satnav/radio head unit won't powerup. I've changed all the fuses and the one at the back of the unit and still nothing. ANyone able to advise me?

Thanks in advance

Unbelieveable, I changed the grill and removed the two headlights to clean this morning and then had realised i couldn't open the bonnet so i couldn't drive the car with the two headlights missing. Anyhow, I have just tried to open bonnet with your advice (in the dark) and after 5 minutes you saved my bacon, as the missus wasn't looking forward to walking! Thankyou, Brill job

In Topic: Egr Blanking Ford Focus

Hi all,

I recently fitted a blanking plate to my 2009 1.6tdci 109bhp, and i had to remove plate as its showing up P042f code(blocked EGR).

Now the light comes on dailey after a couple of miles so i have to remove with a D900 reader. I did clean the EGR after taking of for the third time to check for sticking but is not blocked or sticking. So what do i do now to keep the light off?

Help?

Hi phil,

thanks for reply.

I did remove the EGR valve and clean it by hand and with a toothbrush by spraying in the egr cleaner to the two openings. To be honest, on turning the valve by hand it wasn't stuck or full of crap or jammed up so i'm at a loss as to why the code keeps showing up? Just after putting in 325ml of DPF cleaner into tank to help clear any soot build up so maybe this may help bring up mpg. At the moment i'm getting average of 45mpg since buying the car last year. The best average i got was 47.5 but that will always drop when i tow my caravan. Is my average mpg good or bad?

I bought my car as an import from England as an ex fleet car with motorway miles so would assume the car would do with being driven hard to help clear the filters.

Anyone with advice?

Paul
