Hello, i run a modified Mondeo diesel and wish to run LPG to increase power
Its lightened and the spare wheel has been removed so - a spare wheel tank could be fitted no problem
A 25% power increase has been clamed by some (with an increase in MPG as well) - is this just a "theoretical" figure or attainable in practice? how much more torque could i expect?
My cars' power drops off at higher RPM, there may be various reasons for this, one of which may be the combustion is not "fast enough" i have read the LPG can speed combustion, cold this help the engine rev more and produce more power/ peak at higher RPM?
Sometimes i run on vegatable oil, (upto 100%) is it possible to still run LPG as well?
I use an adjustable boost controller and am considering a turbo upgrade- can i run more boost with the LPG?
How well does the LPG mix with NOS, methanol and water injection? (uptill know i have only run diesel/ veg oil- i know of someone who ran diesel, methanol, nos and water injection, but without LPG)
How much would the kit cost? could i fit it myself? would a plastic inlet manifold be ok?
Thanks in advance
I am afraid to state that when it comes to Diesel conversions we will have no answers.
The mere phrase Diesel conversion doesn't sound right to us.
LPG is injected as an additive for Diesel. The gains that we have read about are in the range of 10%-25% increase in performance and economy.
With the price of the Diesel 'conversion' costing 2-3 times more than Petrol - LPG and with the savings limited to such a low rate, I can honestly say that I don't know the reasons as to why someone would want to carry it out.
I will try to contact a Diesel - LPG manufacturer tomorrow and try to get the answers for you.
Profess LPG LTD.
I wish you the best of luck.
