You can't make out what the code is from the Key, as there is no code on the key.

As for ignition barrel, if that went I can get around it without any problems (Always carry tools for that sort of thing).

The issue I have, is I don't want to have to remove one of the locks to dismantle it and get the code from the barrel pins.

Is there anyway I can find out who the original dealer was, as one bit of advice I was given was that they might have the keycode down on record (this came from Ford).

It is possible to work out what it should be by the height of each cut in the key e.g 132142, as the deepest cut will be a 4 and the shallowest is a 1 - obviously if its too worn you cannot do this easily.

As for finding the dealer I do not know. Don't suppose your lucky enough to have the dealers name on the number plate

If the key is that bad and you cant make out what the code should be, the chances are the lock barrels are pretty worn as well. You thought about putting new locks in with new keys etc?

You don't want to be stuck in Tesco car park for 2 hours with a failed ignition barrels like I was

Well I've had my mk3.5 fiesta for nearly 3 years (first car), never intend on selling it - been tucked up in the garage for 7 months  :D
