#432907 "taking Oval To Blue Horizon" Lenny's Build Thread 2010-2015

Is the Apple adapter you purchased; the USB & Media port cable?
My wife has an iPhone 4S so I've fitted the Apple loom to the centre console,
Or have you gone all out mirror link where your iPhone is fully functional on screen?

As for the reverse camera,
Pioneer released a firmware update which solves some reverse camera glitches,
See link:
http://www.pioneer.e...ml#download_429

I presume you have it connected via the BC input (brown socket) not the yellow AV input,

The camera takes a minute to display when reversing,

I suggest fitting an auto relay to the trailer loom if possible,
I can work with you on this later tonight when i get time,
This will need no switch and automatically deactivate reverse camera when trailer is fitted,

My camera is a bit fizzy at times,
But i didn't earth to body i earthed to reverse loom so that is probably the issue.

Thanks for comments,
Its bright now so im going back out to install,
Talk to you later

Updated to latest firmwire and still the same.
I have my mobius connected to video in and back cam to brown like you said. My old sony headunit i could just tap rearcam icon and view th cam with music still playing. But this unit it doesnt seem to have that option? Maybe will have to use a "Y" splitter and use in video out port - can switch between front and rear that way? I also use the rear cam for parking too and to watch tailgaters lol.

Got the genuine apple hdmi to lightning adaptor which will try next week to mirror screen - allows internet browsing, location sending to friends n family etc, and more. Car play is limited but still great!

How you finding the headunit? Still learning mine haha.

I see what you mean about the cage now.. It seem your dash trim is different to mine and pretty tidy

Brillant headunit! You will love it. Just had to buy an apple AV adaptor to get the appradio part working so can use dashcommand and traffic apps etc.
How you getting on with backup camera? Im failing to work out why mine wont display as i have it wired into a separate switch rather than reverse hook up as i want it on perm due to towing etc.

Lenny, reading through your great thread..
Ive just brought and fitted the exact same pioneer unit you have and love it! Couldnt see how you need another cage as the pioneer one fits fine but tight squeeze and gentle push, the unit will go in.
Maybe you have diff fascia to me as i have the connects2 one.

#425742 Dash Camera

Posted by blue crush on 05 November 2014 - 08:56 PM

I look at the exact same one as that lenny lol. Was hum n har over the wiring as want a simple removable type.
I had a fixed dvr record box with front and rear cams - one in grill and normal rear cam but Y split so can use for dvr and rear cam function on my headunit.
Got fed up with the quality of video which made me remove it and get a new straight forward camera.

Had the clip on mirror camera but didnt get on with it as was anti glare mirror and my window tints made it difficult to see whats behind. Brillant kit tho.

Will see how get on with mobios one

What is the best budget dash camera money can buy?

Im looking for one in HD with tv out to connect up to my headunit.

Small enough to hide behind mirror with suction mount not fixed.

Have looked at Eprance models so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated in my search.

#417531 Installing Foot Well Lighting In Zetec S 2011

Posted by blue crush on 08 October 2014 - 06:34 PM

There should be bulb holders already in the footwells. They take 501wedge bulbs. Have a look to see if u have the holders as ford fit them but never put bulbs in.

After stripping the back cover and seeing what gazRs and stoney posted in assistance (highly appreciated) i finally discovered why it wasn't sitting flush.
I removed a part from behind the holder sticking out preventing flush, with a solder iron as only plastic welded on.

This is the part:

Now a happy result:

Have a plan to revert back to plastic welding part on again and installing usb and aux if i struggle to get what im after with a mod with custom dual usb socket

Yeh that is probably true about the ipod classic.

Does anyone here work for ford who can get me a breakdown diagram of the armrest console so that i can see how it all goes together?

I was thinking exactly those options. It does seem to sit flush on the back which was confusing me to why it doesnt sit right.
Wondering if the consoles with the ipod holder built in them have some other part that makes it sit perfect which i am missing?
The other flaw ive found as i brought it to sit my iphone in while it is charging.. The lid doesnt shut down as iphone is too high.

Anyone fitted the geniune ford ipod holder to their focus armrest console without one from stock?

I ordered one and fitted but seems to prevent the cig lighter cover from opening.

Can anyone advise fitting on my zetec model as no instructions.
