#398592 Good Insurance Companies?

Posted by luke.grimbley on 17 August 2014 - 03:45 PM

Well putting my fiancee and my mum onto the insurance gets it to £283 with Diamond (Just for women) ....Might have to go with them!

Just for women insurance might be what I need judging by my 8% score on this:

I heard they had to allow men so it wasn't discrimination when the equal insurance laws came in  Same with Shelia's wheels :P

52% better than i expected since a lot of it was guesswork.

#398404 Good Insurance Companies?

Posted by luke.grimbley on 16 August 2014 - 11:01 PM

I too am looking for insurance and having the same problem. One thing i did notice was that taking my mum off the insurance brought it down and putting my parter on brought it down. Makes no sense to me as my partner has only 3 years no claims where as my mum has about 15 years.

It's a lottery with insurance. I've found Direct Line are the cheapest for me though and they are not on the price comparison websites.

Looks great! must get round to colour coding the bonnet strip. The gloss black plastics looks much better too. Think that would look good on a black car? I share your hatred of grey plastic haha

Great build. As a super geek, it's good to see people on here who also share my passion for PC's as well as Ford:P

#338901 Philips Blue Vision Vs Osram Cool Blue Intense

Got the Philips to replace my Osrams. They have already outlasted so for that alone I prefer them.

#334216 I Hate Car Insurance

Posted by luke.grimbley on 19 February 2014 - 09:27 PM

I was £700 paying monthly at 20 years old and 2 years NCD. Thought that wasn't too bad for a 2.0 pertol, business use, 15k a year and parked on a drive way. Especially the amount of stolen cars in Aberdeen in the past year or so.

That's with my Mum and my Partner as named drivers too.

It's all a con because it's compulsory so we all need it, they have us by the balls because there are no regulations on pricing. I think there should be official limits into what they can charge us.

#328716 My Focus Zetec Mk2.5 Project

Posted by luke.grimbley on 03 February 2014 - 12:56 PM

Yeah that's my problem. I think most of the aftermarket exhausts are designed to fir the zetec s bumper so i may need to modify and was worried how it would turn out. Taking a bit of inspiration from yours though:)

Looks good. Liking the changes you've made so far. Amazing the difference a set of wheels make:)

Think you've done exactly what im going for in terms of exhaust. Out of interest did you need to modify the standard bumper for the tailpipe to fit correctly? I'm looking at a Jetex system but not keen on changing bumper's, yours looks great so you've given me hope it might work:P

Looking good, works well with the colour:) how about some black paint on the rear break drums to complete the clean look?
