yes and no thats mk2.5 my mk2 1.8 has the valve fitted as per pic when taking trim from near bottom of the windscreen be careful as I stress fractured mine and required a replacement but it was cheap so hey ho
Yes it does appear to be smoother, especially around the lower rev range, and quieter only slightly though it is a diesel lol. Also keep hearing a quiet dull , i suppose knock would be the best way to describe it, like when you have a chipping stuck in your tyre and you have the window open faster you go the faster the tick the slower etc etc however this knock I can't pinpoint and can only be heard in motion, think its def front half central part of the car. But I don't believe this is related in any way to the egr blank.
Today I took the bull by the horns ... so to speak, and set about installing the second reverse light,. Overnight the epoxy set (and boy is it strong as I gave it a good old test) Cut away the inside of the bumper to allow the extra bulb holder to fit..
Hardest thing for me was to wire the new loom into the old one above the exhaust I have jcb hands and jeez was it tight, must of took best part of 2 hours just to splice in and tape.
Anyway checked the normal fog, looks slightly pink to me through the clear lens :/
Next the big test will it work first time ... normal bulbs in at the moment, as I didnt have cree's to hand at the minute, the new reverse picks up the shadow of the fog light bulb as you can see in the pic, hopefully this will look better when cree's are fitted.
sorry about the clarity, but it was blowing a gale when I took the twin light shot
Many thanks to the guide by lenny and all those members who contributed to that thread.
Finally did it no more gapping hole in the console
Boy did it get warm in the footwell went in through the drivers lower trim panel, finally loosened the clips on the power output socket but there was a cylindrical (sp) shape piece of plastic I could not budge what so ever, I ended up chewing it off with long nose pliers
Saw what my mistake was straight off in thinking there should be 3 connectors, the lighter itself has a 2into1 block and I found the illumination wire as stated by you kind folks bent back on itself and taped up. (you dont get much slack to attach these connectors)
All in and working as it should. No one! smokes in my car lol its too clean inside. I just didn't like the void behind the gear stick, but as it could be illuminated I wanted it working
Now to wrap or not to wrap :/
many thanks for you guys taking the time to help out it is much appreciated.
