Aww thanks everyone for your kind comments, it has its moments believe me, especially with 2 little girls running around, but I have a good support network and a nice focus to tinker on!

Started as a part time till monkey at boots when I was at uni, ended up going full time after uni and worked up to team manager. Was there for about 10 years before my wife developed some issues and I've been her full time carer for just over 2 years

Isn't forced induction code for super/turbocharged? Or is it the case that this person has fallen foul to the electric supercharger con I wonder?

Not done it on a fiesta before but can't be much different from my focus.... There should be 2 bolts to the rear of the caliper that hold it in place, usually have dust caps on, these will need to be removed first. This will release the caliper and also the brake pads. Put the pads to one side... a good tip is to secure the now released caliper with bungee cord so as to not put any stress on your brake line. On my focus the disc now comes free but it could be held into place with a screw or two or a central retaining nut. If so undo this and the disc should come free.

Good practice a will be to use some brake cleaner on the disc before refitting

Hope that helps!

Remove your discs before you paint too! Might be obvious but I know of someone who didn't lol

Has anyone had any experience with these? Are they worth the money? Saw a video on YouTube saying they were a waste of time but thought I'd ask the considerable expertise on offer here!

Posted by Rick984 on 06 November 2013 - 05:38 PM

They're easy to steal......one of my younger brothers got an old corsa recently and on the same day someone almost stole it. Turns out all you have to do is take the hazard light switch out, turn it upside down and put it back in and press. This causes a short in the ecu and turns the ignition on! All you have to do then is get the steering lock off and jump start it! If they hadn't have been disturbed they would have got away with it ;)
