#415750 4 Weeks Of Ownership

Posted by philr62 on 02 October 2014 - 07:09 PM

Well i've had the st for 4 weeks now and all i can say is that it lives up to all the hype.

The whole package just seems right, power, handling, brakes, looks are all spot on.

It gets a few admiring glances and some nice comments as well.

The only downside is the sad loss of my metal dust caps of which i suspect are the envy of the new owner at the local bmx park ;)

If i could sum my st up in one word i think it would have to be

EPIC

#414845 Resetting A Bluefin Device When Changing Car

Posted by philr62 on 29 September 2014 - 08:02 PM

I'm in this situation .had a bluefinned zs less than 12 months old and now have a st.

Thanks for the info i'll see if they will reset and give me a map for mine.

Probably leave it standard for now but it's there for the future if i get used to the standard power and feel the need for more B)

#413464 Are St Dustcaps Chav Magnets?

Posted by philr62 on 25 September 2014 - 08:02 PM

Yep theres me on a previous post dissin the chavs for nicking dustcaps off somones st and wallop theres chav revenge for you two of mine gone.

Why only two nicked? pushbike/moped use?

Why are they so shiny to attract them?

Why oh why don't they leave the piggin things alone?

Plain black ones for me now, going out later to nick some off something a chaved up corsa maybe  B)

#409056 One Gripe With The St

Posted by philr62 on 12 September 2014 - 07:27 PM

Can all the people who have no trouble measure their arms please.

Then when we have an average i could go to the docs and see if i can get mine shortened a bit on the nhs.

Other people get things done so maybe they can sort my arms to fit my st,or just the left one at least B)  :D

#408681 1.0 Ecoboost Europe Road Trip Report, Inc Nurburgring Nordschleiffe

Posted by philr62 on 11 September 2014 - 07:06 PM

I've always wanted to have a go round the ring ,may even go next year now i have the st.

As i owned a zetec s before i agree the brakes are no where near the stopping power of the st.As you say ok for road but

not good enough for high speed driving like the ring or any track work tbh.

Good luck with the finance on the st if all goes well you will love it.

#406852 All My Fears Are Squashed Yay

Posted by philr62 on 07 September 2014 - 05:15 PM

Me and Mrs philr62 went for the first proper run in the st today
and my greatest fear was that it was going to be a bit to harder ride.
Nothing like it Ford have got it just right imo, only on the really rough patches did it feel a bit hard but not unbearable.
All the car reviews that said it was too firm must be Woosy.

In fact I was finding a few rough patches on the way home just to enjoy the boob action lol

#406316 St Recaros Comfort?

Posted by philr62 on 06 September 2014 - 09:58 AM

This must be very annoying for you,I had the same problem in the clio 197 i had made my back ache around the kidney area never did get the problem solved tbh. That was the only car i ever had that made me ache like that.

Im sure you can overcome this somehow maybe just playing around with the positions to take the pressure off your back a bit

The trouble with the recaros is it seems that they are made as one size fits all so to speak .

There again you might find things get better after a while, maybe your back muscles will get used to your driving position, strange things happen like that.

#403645 Nearly There

Posted by philr62 on 31 August 2014 - 08:24 AM

Haha they might as well change it to "Phil Blue" at this rate, I think half the people on this forum are called Phil and have a blue ST

I hope nobody ever posts a thread with "Attention to phil with the blue st" it will make the forum crash with so many hits to answer all at once

#394273 Just Ordered An St3

over here you can drive for up to two weeks without tax,
But if caught without it then you must produce a tax disc within two weeks to cover that date,
Surely its the same over there?
Chance it for the few days if caught then you will need to tax it for the minimum term,
Chanced of being stopped though,

But does not having tax invalidate your insurance?

Thanks all for the replies.

Just hit a bit of a snag, can't get any time off so can't collect on the 1st.

Problem is the tax runs out on the zs  last day of August but wont be able to collect until the 5th.

I don't really want to tax the zs for the sake of a few days but need a car for work.

Only two ways out of it really and that is that the dealer can lend me a car or get the st registered on a 14 plate and collect it sooner.

time to make a call see what the dealer can do.

I took my zetec s in for a service yesterday and ended up ordering a st3 in spirit blue.

The dealer has one in group stock so ONLY a few weeks to wait

Roll on sept 1st might have to book the day off work.

Can't wait tbh.

Got a cracking deal will be driving an st for £6 more a month than the zs. B)

will put up pics when the bad boy arrives.
