#471307 St150 Best Spark Plugs?

Posted by MattDRX on 30 March 2015 - 11:43 AM

NGK Iridiums, best ones out there, probably stick some magnecor leads on it too, quite pricey but you'll notice it start up that bit nicer, pretty much corrosion proof too.

#471305 Mk6 St Gears ?

Just look at another one, plenty out there, needs an Aux belt kit changing and probably just a syncro issue, nothing majorly expensive but still given there are hundreds out there I'd walk away and find a minter.

#470332 Clutch Problems In Re-Mapped Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost

What I'm getting at is if the Reds have a different part number of the clutches then ergo the standard clutch on the 100/125's isn't suitable for power over 140 or thereabouts, Ford will have made another to suit.

Perhaps worth looking whether the Red / Black editions have a different part number for the cluches and bearings, if anyone has access. may well be an eye opener to people considering taking the car above 140BHP or so.

Mountune's weak MP135 was made slightly weaker than others, most likely for a reason like this.

more torque = more clutch wear, not exactly an uncommon thing on any car, more common on dervs though except Mondeos some how, mapped Honda diesels die very quickly when mapped.

Not buying a new toy yesterday.

Checked out an RS3, the economy was going ok on the test drive, put the footdown blast it for a bit and you could literally watch the gauge on it drop at a rate of knots, scary stuff.

back to the drawing board, might just get another ST and chuck £8K on making it over 300BHP! want something that has a 0-60 under 6 sec easy and can beat a Golf R / S3 on the traffic light GP.

OT, Godalming where I work, FULL of tools who drive Saabs at 13MPH and have to stop to let everyone out at every jct, full of bell pieces who stand at a crossing no cars coming, they see me in the wifes motor and then press the light!!!!!! You  SPEND LONGER WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO CHANGE THAN JUST CROSSING AFTER I'VE GONE PAST YOU ********************************************************* I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WORDS AND EXPLETIVES DESCRIBE HOW IRRITATING IT MAKES ME WHEN PEOPLE / HUMANS / EARTH CLAN TRIBE DO THIS!!! RAAAAAAAAGE

#469069 Adding A Turbo To My 1.6 Fiesta 2010

Posted by MattDRX on 24 March 2015 - 11:30 AM

it's never worth it, tbh only old clios are, already 180BHP and just over 1000KGS, at 240BHP they slay M3's lol.

When there is a factory job going always better to take that, get the brakes etc too.

6 months, he got off easy.

I used to work with a guy who got done after the Xmas party, he tried to drive between 2 grit lorries but turned out there was only one and stacked into the back of it lol, seeing double. got 2 years for it plus the council courted him for the damage and insurance naturally didn't cover him.

Transits, mega money now, get a Navara or L200 2nd hand.

I would actually hate to lose my license, I wouldn't know what to do.

Let it be known drink drivers, 2 days in and I can't take it!!!!!

Admittedly I learned a long time ago, I have done once and only once. when I was 21, I didn't get caught but I remember on the way home doing 140MPH on the M25 and thinking damn I have no control, came home and turned into my drive way and bang a huge scrape all the way down the side of my car, turned in too early., repair cost was £1700 and I only had the car for 2 weeks was my 21st Bday pressie, a lovely MK3 Astra GSI with C20 LET inside, loved it, was a proper VX and I ruined it.

Lesson learned, never drink drive, could have been a hell of a lot worse.

OT TIDL Still no Fiesta RST's on sale.

Not having a car for the first time in over 10 years. I feel powerless and like a child.

#467333 * Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost - Turbo?

Posted by MattDRX on 19 March 2015 - 04:59 PM

luckily going by this forum I don't think Ford turbo owners have to worry about that lol

Carbonising is the term I believe, also happens from lack of oil changes, turbo boils it off inside and it sticks to it just like a crappy frying pan.

^ still that just bumps the cost up towards the ST money.

it's a good choice, you'll enjoy it so much more, for the difference in cost I wonder why so many people bought the ZS, unless for 5 doors it doesn't make decent value for money over it.

the red / black edition.........just don't see it, it's just a Corsa LE with a better engine and not a VX, pure copying and very late at it Fraud. anyone paying 16k for one must be on crack tbh
