Serious Mk4 Help

31 May 2014 - 07:52 PM

After messing around with my car again (don't ask why) I have managed to frazzle my dial illumination. There is now no power to the place where the bulbs usually sit

What would be easier, replacing the green plastic strip that the power goes too. (I have no idea how to remove the dial instruments, otherwise I wouldn't be in this predicament)

Or wiring some new lights into the headlights, so the dial illumination still comes on with the headlights?

Please help I would like to drive my car at night asap lol

Wheel Refurbishment

28 April 2014 - 08:55 AM

Hi all, for my birthday I gained an extra 8 alloy wheels for my p reg fiesta. While 4 are in alright nick, the other 4 arent so great (but they were dirt cheap)

I've always wanted to have a go at painting some alloys so I had a crack on the worst wheel there was (heavily scratched, lots of filler, punctured tyre etc) and attempted to transform it.

Obviously I can't go for a professional finish as its my first try, but even the best have to start somewhere right?

Mk4 Speedo Cluster.

05 February 2014 - 05:09 PM

Does anybody know how to remove the speedo cluster from a mk4 fiesta? I can't find a answer anywhere and I'm not willing to pull on mine until it snaps. I managed to get it once where I undid four screws holding it into the dashboard but after that when I went to pull it, it felt like it was connected behind at the bottom.

TLDR; How do I remove it (safely)

Also, if anybody knows on how to change the colour from standard green that would be very helpful. I think it is just a piece of filter that needs changing, but can anybody clarify or help me there aswell?

Cheers

Quick Question About Tint

01 February 2014 - 08:19 PM

Hi all, quick few questions about window and light tints.

first off, I'm sure the rear windows can be tinted to any level and the front screen can only go to 75%, and the driver windows to 70% (right?)

secondly, can tint be safely put on heated rear windscreens? I've read that you should place strips between the wiring but in my mk4 fiesta that would be far to much effort than I'm willing to put in. so can one big piece be safely put on rwar heated screens?

finally, can window tint be used to smoke the rear lights? also heard that the rear lights need to put out at least 50% light to pass an mot, is that also true?

thanks in advance for helping out a newbie :)

Blue Led Switch Panels

03 December 2013 - 05:02 PM

Hi guys,

just been scouring the internet and found these, which would fit perfect for my car and fit the theme excellently.

These are the items I'm on about:

http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649

I've already put an order in for a blue clock off the same guy, but after taking my own apart, I can't see any way of changing the light colour.

I can't find any tutorials or guides online, hopefully you guys will help me save a few £££ and show me how you can change the colour?

Thanks in advance.
